This video was shot in high-resolution digital video with stereo sound. You hear the mud splatter, the frames groan, see the tire smoke, the rock shatter, the chainsaw roar, and the trees fall!

Painful to watch you wheel man. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
Sorry to say but H2 representation was not there.
-You seemed like you already quit before you even started.
-You were definitely relying on the H1s to pull you out. Thus your lack of agressivness.
-Tires. And did you air down at all?
-Dipstick white H1 NEVER gaves you enough room out of the ruts leaving you no choice but to get stuck.
-Sackless wheelin.
-Sackless wheelin.
-Sackless wheelin.
-Upgrading to an H1 won't make a difference if you're a sackless driver.
-I guess we were all beginners at one time but this one was beyond you NOT YOUR H2.
VERY.....EXTREMELY painful to watch a bunch of seasoned vets let an inexperienced driver tag along.
I didn't see anything in that video that would have stopped an H2 and a capable driver (One who accepts the reality of carnage 100% which you did not and the H1s did).
Painful to watch. Painful. I'll not be saving this video. Your actions almost seem INTENTIONAL if not sackless.
The video editing was great BTW. The 70s porn music could have used some work.
It's crap like this that make us behave more and more irrational with every trip to Moab.
Don't take it personal buddy. It needed to be said. And don't think of upgading. The H2 can do pretty much the same as the H1.

You really don't think the extra ground clearance of the H1 made a difference here? You are putting it all on the driver? I thought that the extra clearance of the H1 kept it from getting hung up in the muck. I do agree on the tires, and that shipbldr approached the big mud hole (where he got delayed bigtime) a little slow but not sure it would have made a difference.
These are honest questions, I am definitely a rookie and want to learn from others.

11-27-2005, 03:06 PM
Dennis,
There's a big difference between sackless and reckless.
I don't need to wreck my truck to feel like a man or prove who I am.
Actually I'm pretty proud of the fact that I think my way through things, work along, and am not too proud to accept a tow (or winch out) as I explore the limits of my truck.
I clearly do not accept the possibility of 100% carnage. Never said I did. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
When you have a 250 mile drive home and no trailer... why risk transmission loss.. When you know you can get a tug of you need it?
I not not here to impress you or live up to your standards. I am here to enjoy my truck.
What exactly is it that you have to prove by dumping on me?
You are clearly insecure and trying to prove yourself by crapping on others.
You might have an great truck.
You might be willing to wreck it on the trail.
You might have a lot of experience.
But in the end, your willingness to dump on me and other here at the board proves 1 thing
On the inside you are an INSECURE PUSSY that constantly worries about how he comepares to others.
Go F*** yourself. I am not here to live up to your standards. Neither is anyone else on the board.
This is about having fun, and you are not helping.
You are exactly what most of the newbies on this board need to try to avoid.
Go back to the mall.

Great question!
I could have (and should have) hit the mudhole faster... but still would have hung up.
I looked at it, knew I was going to snag up any which way it went, and decided I would rather get high centered gently. The factory protection is good... but by no means bullet proof.
Dennis is just in a bad mood. (He'll be in a worse mood when he reads my reply...)
Don't let the airbags on the board push you around... Take your time, enjoy your truck on your own terms, and do what you are comfortable with.

You did a great job handling your truck on the various obstacles at the funlands and don't listen to the negative comments that are coming from individuals who have never been to the Funlands. I extend an open invitation to anyone who would like to bring their H2 to the funlands and prove any conceived illusions they may have.
I guarantee you won't perform much better.
Yes, Charles could definitely use a little more clearance and some better aggressive tires, however, again, he performed well and earned the respect of each and every H1 driver that was there.

Not that I would ask where exactly this is on the open forum, but what city, state is this near? What about invites for the H3 owners?
Charles,
I really do think some MT's could have helped and airing down the tires and front locker. by looking at the video, it didn't look as hard as I'm sure it was. I'm sure it was like slime out there and that always makes the trails way harder... esp. with H1 ruts. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
BTW- WTH was on the roof of you GOBI rack, or maybe a better questions would have been- what wasn't?
You had a comment about the factory UC protection not being bullet proof. You are so dead on with that statement. If you are going to keep wheeling you may want to go with the Rubber duck UC protection and HD tie rod kit. With all that wheel spinning, you are going to break tie rods soon enough. Trail Duty (Phil D) can get you all that stuff too. I saw that a couple of the H1's were running Rubber Duck protection for the rock rails. That IS bulletproof.
Good luck with your repairs and cleaning that beast back up.
Tim.

Hey Tim,
I'll tell you that the Funlands are in western PA... beyond that, its up to George to show you the secret handshake.... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Some mud tires will certainly help, and so dis airing down... and of course front locker... and lift.. etc... All good things come in due time http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
The Gobi rack is sporting two pelican cases, a 60" hi-lift jack, an on board air system and tank, tire, and some other doodads... It great! I love it because now I have room inside the truck again.
I carry a spare tire rod as of last Tuesday when it arrived ... and the rubber duck is coming, probably in January... just so much going on right now... 1000's of little things.
I'm sure you know how it goes.
BTW... I really like the H3 racks you guys made... you got the dimensions spot on for curb appeal. Very nice!

I think the man has a point about the image thing... and cutting down trees. I must will admit it's not something I really thought of too much.
I guess all of us have our own point of view.
Let's be fair to Dennis. He thinks (& I agree he's right) that my H2 probably could have been pushed harder than it was. I choose not to. He probably would have choose otherwise. His call, his wish.
He's got a lot more experience and knowlege than I do in these things apparently. It seems a greater tolerance for damage.
I'm comfortable with that.
We just see the world differently. And that is OK.
I just don't live up to his standards of what a hummer driver should be. I'm comfortable with that too. I'm just having fun on my own terms. I hope he enjoys the same.
You can rest assured that I will not sit in judgement of his driving skills. I just don't feel the need to measure myself against him or anyone else.
Back the tree thing...
I see the whole tree thing from a different angle too.
I guess I got jaded about the whole chainsaws and trees cut down thing.
I must have become "tree insensitive" at work... you see... a couple of twigs at the Funlands aren't the first to die for my Hummer...
Here's picture from "the yard" at "work"
so... let the whining about dead trees roll in!
I think it took about 310 acres of clear cut trees to pay for my Hummer....
And yes... now that you mention it I probably could have winched off of somethings, but no we didn't care to waste the time.
But it is a point taken, and will be in the back of my mind.
My main thought about trees is that they "grow back".
Different world views I guess.
Live well http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

11-29-2005, 11:17 PM
Folks out there are really that nuts about the trails?
Every once in a while we get a person (or an e-mail from a person) who acts like every tree is sacred... and in the case of some old growth areas.. I can agree with them.
Otherwise, generally the reaction we get here is "Thanks for the jobs."
I always hear stories about tree nuts... spikes and that sort of crap. We generally don't have to deal with that part of things. It's interesting to hear from someone who deals with them on the front lines. Seems thay are pretty extreme.
Sounds like you have a heck of a battle on your hands. I wonder if the tree nuts ever take into account that wheeling helps keep the trails open and passable... which is a big help when the next forest fire rips through and you're a hurry to save the 99.99% of the land that's not on the trail. But I degress.
We generally operate with the attitude that the earth was put here to be used and enjoyed. Yes, we do plant behind... but the small tree "junk wood" carnage is stunning if you've never seen it before. Those twigs get mowed down, not driven around.
I can see you point about the nuts trying to using the trees them "to make hay" about destruction. Oh well, preaching to the choir...
Thanks. It helps me understand a lot better where you're coming from.

Alright.....I can't take much more of this. what seemed like just a friendly posting of a video for pleasure viewing, has become the most ridiculous on-going dialogue imaginable.
Regardless of what those guys did, it's what they chose and doesn't require the blessing or acceptance of anyone......particularly some numb-nuts who honestly believe their H2 is as capable as an H1. Get over it guys....The salesman at the dealer convinced you that you were buying a "real" hummer and you went for it.
I'm sure he told you it had the same capabilities as an H1, however don't you still question why it costs half the price as an H1.
I'm not knocking the H2, however you have to be realistic and stop living in a fantasy world where you think you have one of the worlds most capable off-roading machines.
How about showing us some of you guy's videos depicting some of the "hard-core" trail riding you guys are such experts at.....And I don't mean the same stuff that stock jeeps and samarui's are running.

I didn't see any difficult trails mentioned there......what about lower and upper helldarado.....everything else is the same trails that all vehicles (jeeps, sami's, bronco's, etc) run.
Hummer Club's opinion of obstacles is in no way the guidance. They're primarily interested in everyone just having a good "family" time together and not necessarily pushing the vehicles to their limits.
I will applaud you for your aggessive wheelin and definitely see you as one who's willing to push their truck. Again, don't be offended because of my opinion between the H1 and the H2. There are vehicles out there that make the H1 look like crap on the trails, however alot of H1 owners won't admit it.

Well actually if you were a member of the hummer club you would have access to prior events and would be able to see H1's on both obstacles.
Sorry, no ties, affliations or other known relationships with the funlands nor shipbuilder.

I have to offer some insight to all this. First off we'll look at this tree thing. Anywhere there is a road, trail, house, mall or porno shop where trees can grow...trees have been removed to make it. The Funland is a very young and very private off road park. The trails are all pretty new to wheelin use, some are old logging roads but are still grown in a good bit. If you guys watch the video you will see that the H2 had to remove trees to get through in places too. I personally am not fond of doing so but I just make sure no potential lumber grade trees are ever removed, that is a rule. We dont even scrape the bark off of a potential lumber grade or otherwise healthy tree. You must avoid these trees and if you even get near them you are hooking up a winch cable. The funland is actually more of a private hardcore rock crawling park, the majority of the trails were built for smaller jeep like trail buggy's, so for the hummers to run...H1's or H2's, there had to be some trees removed. I started clearing wider and straighter...easier (go ahead bash me...I can take it) trails for the hummers about a year ago when George (who usually runs his Mog over the rocks there) expressed interest in having some of you guys out for a ride. So some trees died, had the funland stayed open only to jeep like vehicles more trees would be alive but trees are cut for worse reasons every single day if you ask my opinion on the matter. You guys need to come to even terms on that one because h1 or h2 it dont matter, either or is not as friendly to the forest as a smaller-lighter vehicle. The video didnt do a good representation however just because of the tree huggers be damned part of it. We are actually very enviro-conscious at the funland, we only cross the streams at 90* angles, we have dug diversion ditches to prevent run off and errosion, anyone wheeling there has me or someone I or the land owners personally select guiding them to ensure the proper trails, and only the proper trails are run and run in a proper manor, making sure everyone stays on the property, there is no littering or otherwise malicious behavior. That is why the funland is by invite only, we keep it very policed and controled and its environment respected to prevent any problems, even though it is private.
Now for the H1-H2 debate. No stock vehicle does well in the funland. The H2 actually did ok for as big and low as it is, so I thought, performing how I assumed it would. It could of been beat on a little harder yes.... but shipbldr didnt baby it by any means either. He had expert level guides helping with lines and giving pointers, not one of you would of faired any better without taking more damage or moding your hummer. No one vehicle is going to do better everywhere but with funland like terrain the H1 will almost always manhandle the h2 and that is the final word on it. Slap a solid front axle in that h2 and some clearance then its a different story. Ultimatly though the funland is more of a small and highly modified vehicle type terrain, its really not best suited for any hummer so when someone has one in there they take a beatin and the machines are definatly pushed to the limits.
Oh yea, we also do not allow rock stacking or moving rocks under any circumstances at the funland. If you run those trails, you earned it, you didnt pave it. Our trails, even the easiest of them are far more challenging than what that video lets you believe.
This is an idea of what kind of trails make up the core of the funland. We have the hard trails, some of the most challenging stuff you can find anywhere if you guys wanna say an h2 has run a hard one, I'll set up the ride for you.

I don't care if you run your rock buggy up to the top of a 2000 year old cypress just to break it over, just don't put it on video to share with the world. And certainly don't try to justify by saying you are "blazing" a trail. Private land or not. It's simply not responsible.
It is the stupid ****s in crap built rigs that get off-trail just to prove that they can climb a little ledge or run over a damn tree that is causing public trails across the U.S. to get closed.
As far as your debate on vehicles, it makes about as much sense as windshield wipers on a goat's ass. I could show you pictures of a ****ing lake and tell you to try and get your little buggy across it...... get it. Understand scale. A piece of crap rock buggy is built for one purpose, albeit a fun purpose. We wheel our H2s where they are capable of going and would no more put them on a UROC course as we would try to cross a lake.
Same thing with H1s, except you can go buy a 10 year old beater and beat the crap out of it. Guess what? The oldest H2 is a little over 3 years old and very few people take their 3 year old vehicles out on trails knowing that carnage is going to happen. We try the hardest trails we can where we can make it through without breaking. Only wannabes would expect anything different.
The debate has been that H2s can't keep up with H1s and simply have shown that they can given the same level of comfort in the carnage area. I don't understand why it is such a problem to swallow. AM General worked with GM to come up with a design for the H2 to make it a capable vehicle and GM designed the interior to make it a comfortable vehicle. The H2 is made by AM General at the same location as the H1. It really shouldn't be that big of a stretch.
And lastly, to show how utterly incoherrant you are on the whole issue of vehicle dynamics. You state that the H2 would fair better with a SFA but state that the H1 will manhandle the H2 with it's 4 corner IS and very, very poor articulation. Sorry, but you're not allowed to have your cake and eat it too.
The H3 kicks all your asses

Its far far less of a stretch to compare it to a 2500 chevy if you want to be specific. It was not my intention to bash the H2's by any means, just adding factual insight into the argument and the fact is the H1 will and does perform better at the funlands. I however have no intentions to argue with the ill equiped who appear to have flocked here, I have nothing to prove or gain from it. Have a good one.

Alec and I had some great PM exchanges last night.
(Absolutely no sarcasm here)
And I think he raised some good points about the tree thing. My personal feels about it aside, I think Alec has a point that it does nothing for the greater.
I think that some of the guys from out west have some real concerns about the politics of the matter, deal with some real crap helping keep the trails open, and I don't think it's asking too much to show them some support.
About 4 hours ago we did some edits to the video, trimmed out the 90 or so seconds of chainsaw footage from the 2 spots it appears, and started a fresh compile which will start later tonight when I will replace the source on the server.
Please don't anyone get on Alec about this, he did not request it. He has some real concerns about the politics of the matter and I think they are valid. So changes made. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanx for the welcome sfox. The guides and myself really are expert though and other than George the guides were not H1 owners. They are the local crew who wheel the funland bi-weekly, they have thousands of hours of seat time, know the lines and really do know how any given vehicle will react on certain terrain, yes any vehicle, thats what makes myself and them expert. If in any doubt about any vehicle or driver then they side with safety, that also makes them expert. I have only been on the trail with one other H2 prior to shipbldr though, been out with H1's on several occassions. Even with Marines as I organize a toys for tots trail ride with them.

No, why do you think only a tree can damage a rig? Are you out bashing your ride off of them all the time or what? When you run harder terrain things break. I've never got a tree dent at the funland myself but I've taken plenty of rock damage, broke a dozen or more axles and so on. You'll better understand when you start to wheel a little bit maybe.

dennisajc and paragon, you guys must have extremely small penises, since you have to substitute your massive SUV's for your manhood! The better part of four wheeling skill is knowing the limits of your machine, and driving within them! Apparently, you think it's okay to beat the piss outta something to make it look like you know what you're doing. I guarantee that the funland would be beyond your skill level.

and unlike you 2, I have wheeled in the funland, and wheeled a high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle in similar terrain local to the funland. If you're such a capable driver, come on out and show me how it's done, if you're as good as you think, there's plenty of events here that I'd like to see an H2 compete in and win.

I myself own an 05 libby, I agree it was NEVER intended to be on the trail and it will never go there. You see I know that, but I know it will go to work and back and to the mall as it was intended and that is why I have it. I have real trail rigs also, I dont need to beat on a street queen and pretend its something its not. The libby is kinda like an H2 if you want my honest opinion. Theres nothing wrong with an H2 by any means and if someone wants to own and wheel one and respect this hobby and others who do it than good for them, they are my people (and if thats you please dont read any further as I think your A-OK and I have no intentions to offend you) but for you turd burglers who flap the gums, disrespect the hobby and the people doing it (paragon and others)here we go. HAHAHA! that was a good one, gotta give ya that. Fact of the matter is if i hated hummers I wouldnt have them out at the funland now would I??? I have nothing against hummer or the h2 (problem is with know it all rookies) I just personally wouldnt take an h2 over a subaru for trail use, thats my opinion and I'm entitled to it. I'm considering an h3 though, maybe looking for one that was already beat on, maybe theft recovery or something that I can cut up, add some tube, slap a solid axle under it and make a street legal wheeler out of it. I think the h3 has some favorable charactoristics for trail use and looks cool too.

Yeah dennis, since we had stock vehicles and the weather was crappy (mud slick) we had to stick to the easiest stuff we got up there but whats that say for you? I'll make you a deal. Since you know it all and you may just be dumb enough to do it I'll pay your gas for you to make the treck from up there in canadia to show me how its done. Heres the deal though, closest thing I got to a stock vehicle for trail use is a rodeo on 31's, nothing special really. I'll bet you 20 grand against your 20 grand or h2 (needs to be handed over in fair-excellent condition so I can trade it or sell) saying your h2 cant follow my rodeo on them trails at the funland. Lets see if you really believe the **** you sling around here buddy ol pal o mine. Getting your beat down busted ass home after this lil venture is up to you. What you say, I say back your ass up, you talk the big game, you got nothing to lose, its just a rodeo and the trails are cake anyway right? hahaha I wont get my hopes up.
And again, I stress, before this gets deep around here I have no gripe with any h2 or the majority of normal folks who own and enjoy them.

And again, If I was lying would I have hummers out to the funland? Let me add even more; because of the fact that the property is not insured to operate as an off-road park (zoning and other issues) very few folks ever get to see it. So let me ask you this, if the hummer club had a private off-road park would they invite me out in my trail rig, especially with no insurance policy, no fee's, fairly loose rules like wheelin after dark and so on? I think not! So now where's the hate? I think I could learn to hate you guys real quick though, you have no ****in respect for your hobby.

Just because you assume something does not make it true. Most members here go out and wheel with whatever anyone brings along and don't care. Give one concrete reason why you would make that assumption.

Any owners' out here of both an H1 and a H2? I personnally have both and know, first-hand, that the off-roading capability of each is no where near comparision.
Of course, I'm sure though someone will have something smart to say. Let's leave the one-sided opinions out of this one and here from other joint owners.

Shipbuilder/Charles,
I'm a wheelin' noob. I enjoyed watching your video. The observation that sticks with me the most, is the difference in the approach to your driving on day two. It was amazing. You picked different lines, and approached the mud with more confidence. I could tell you were not as apprehensive.
But, the obstacles you delt with, were difficult. Not Moab difficult, but for a noob, it was a far cry from a dirt road.
The footing that you were dealing with is tough. It takes just a hair more adrenaline to push thru the slipping.
I admire your courage. The toughest part, IMHO, is following H1's. Capabilities aside, it is damn hard to know what to do when you are attemping to follow a line behind an H1.
I have followed both H1's and H2's. And I can tell you, I did not start to "see" the line until I followed an H3. It has made SUCH a difference.
Thank you for all of the time and effort you put into the video.
Again, I enjoyed it.

You're right about day 2... much less apprehension and lesser obstacles.
Still, it looks like soon we're going to get a chance to watch a couple of drivers who really know what they're doing go at it through the Funlands.

What a crock of shit. Analogizing the lumber business with treading lightly on trails is absurd.
It’s obvious you live back East where most of the public OHV trails have been closed for years and most wheeling (if not all) is in OHV parks or on private land. Ever wondered why we don’t have to put big ugly red flags on our vehicles when we wheel out here? It’s because we wheel on public land and we still have the right to drive on a designated ROWs (right of way).
Out here in the West we are fighting everyday with environmentalists to keep our public lands and trails in places like Moab and the Colorado Rockies open for OHV use. Most of the arguments used by environmentalists are exemplified by demonstrating that OHV use wrecks the land. Such examples typically show some fool driving over something which takes years to back. An extreme case in the high Rockies is arctic tundra, however they will often take any information (pictures and video) they can find and twist it out of context to further their cause.
In actuality the vast majority of wheelers out West are good stewards of the land and respectful of the environment and cause (I know the group that hits up Moab twice a year from this forum is). It’s the smaller minority of people that will eventually cause our trails to be closed. Some of these people are simply uneducated and the rest are idiots.
Tell you what, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and take your "grow back" attitude as the latter.
*

alec, i understand your point on this. in utah there are not many trees... in the west alot of land is owned by the government... in the east alot of the land is private ownership, mainly for logging industry income. alot of private owners do not want vehicle on there property for liability reasons, the ones that do are real specific about not affecting trees that have logging value. its just alot different out here... i have never blazed a rail, but we have built trails on numerous private properties, alot of places i go, you could not fit a quad through with out cutting a few trees down.
now we can look at pictures and videos and say moab is hardcore, sure, the angles can get extreme... thats because the traction is plentiful. throw some loose dirt/mud to the mix and its just as hard if not harder, even though the "angles" arent as extreme...
now go ahead and bash me again, when im am trying to be open minded and put another view point out there.

I am guessing since you are asking you also are floating around the NH area? I only get up there about once every three years since the Marine Corps keeps me in far off places. My family and I just came out of Okinawa, Japan after being there for 6 years.
We had some decent 4x4's over there but nothing like the H2. I had a couple different Land cruisers and toyota surfs (4runners). No good American built vehicles which sucked but the Surf was a great vehicle. I now look at the rice rocket vehicles in a different light but they still do not compare to my SUT.

Hey Hotpursuit........don't try to rational with these guys.....They can't help it.....They bought into a vehicle that was bastardized by it's owner!
GM waived the dollars and American General bit......
It's a shame how GM put all that effort into the initial marketing ploy for the vehicle, and now won't even provide technical support for it during official Hummer Club Events.
GM got what they wanted, and now the only thing these guys have left for support is themselves!

if you guys were not such rookies you would reccognise team hotpursuit. Being the rookies you are though you cant see out of your little world here. You guys are like a 5th grade flunky challenging a masters educated engineer in math compition. In your 5th grade flunky world you can multiply a few numbers and since that is all you know you think you just know everything. In the world of wheeling Dennis, you are the 5th grade flunky. I'm not on the level of Hotpursuit but I am still an expert level wheeler in this hobby, I can line my vehicles up on any trail in this country, any fawking trail, I've donr the time, I've busted my knuckles, I've put forth the effort to get to that point, I didnt just pretend to be me. You get to be an expert by earning it, you have not earned anything, you dont even respect your fellow h2 buddies. Sorry, you want to be more than a 5th grade flunky quit talking your **** and earn what you think you you have coming. Do you have to accept my challenge, no you would be a fawking idiot too but you can start by respecting others in the hobby. I dont think your **** because of your attitude, you may fool a few other rookies but your not fooling Rob, charles or me. I see your ride, its a stock H2 and it looks clean. Charles H2 looked clean but he had dents in the thing. I can tell you for a fact too the voodoo trail he was on at paragon would show you a whole new world of wheeling. Your not even hardcore on here dennis, guys like charles push their vehicles capability more than you do. You know what too, since you have to drive to a different country to do your wheeling I would think charles has more seat time than you do anyway. Earn your respect and you will get it but dont try to pretend or you will just look like a pussy.

Guys,
I'd like to apologize the contraversy this video has cause. When I found out it reached the RUBICON Forum, I felt I should explain myself. Please bear with me.
I've been wheelin Jeeps for 7-8 years ( Modded YJ Sahara ). I am very much aware and versed with it's capabilities.
I bought my Pewter H2 in Nov 2002, delivered March 2003. I wanted a capable wheeler where I could bring my family and not sacrafice on space for gear and stuff. Grand Cherokee was not going to do that for me IMHO.
I'm not a fan of BLING and I wheel when I can. I'm not afraid to take risks and I'll push my limits without worrying too much about carnage let alone scratches. I'm just like you, I work hard, play hard, and joke alot.
I've found a handful of H2 wheelers who feel the same way. We're all spread apart by hundreds/thousands of miles but we try and get together in MOAB about twice a year with other Jeeps/Discos/Yotas.
For almost 3 years now, my H2 has been spat on, kicked, keyed, heckled, egged.
When I drive it I get yelled at, fingered at, laughed at, cut off, threatened. Even with my wife and two boys 2 and 5 now.
On the trails, same thing.
I use to belong to Jeep Forum because of my past. The hate and misinformation about the H2 has been flung around that site uncontrollably for years now. Just these few months it started spreading into our Forum and the war began.
There wasn't much fight in us because most of the H2ers were ex and present Jeep owners also and we staill had a certain loyalty to the brand. The mocking and misinformation continued until there was a breaking point. Jerry Bransford.
BTW. Jerry Bransford has some pretty ****ty comments about Rubi's also just in case somebody here vouches for him.
ALL THE THINGS STATED AGAINST THE JEEP IN THAT VIDEO ARE FALSE.
The video was just an excercise in "how does it feel" when the tables are turned. What we've gone through over the years. If I spread lies about their rigs the way they spread lies about ours? The Saddam and Hitler was distasteful but purely for shock effect.
Sure watching idiots bling their rides and some who'll never(About 95%)see a gravel road, doesn't help our reputation. But you can't do that kind **** to a fellow wheeler and judge him by what he drives whithout knowing the driver.
Everyone now says H2ers are *******s and snobs...
Over the years of fist fights, arguments, middle fingers, and heckles, H2 owners including myself, have developed "Tunnel Vision" which can be mistaken as snooty. I'm just weary to look at the driver next to me or passing a fellow wheeler and run the risk of getting "The response". Even the majority of H1 owners shun us. Mabye 70% of wheelers I've approached to say hi and talk shop have been bad experiences so I just stopped doing that unless they approached me.
Jeepers and Rubicons that have wheeled with us, know we are an EXTREMELY friendly bunch. We will run to aid anyone who asks and will buy a fellow wheeler a beer or ten.
We already have enviromentalists issues to deal with but to have the wheelin community come down on you on top of that, can you blame us?
Some here will say that rivalries have happened for years, but have you heard of a FUjeep, FUrubicon,FUyota.com before? FUH2 is a thorn.
If you visit our Forum, come as a fellow wheeler ,be friends and possible cross paths for fun and booze. Come in to insult us, like any Forum, you guys know what the response will be. We're not bad people. We're just like you. But fed up. 3 years of BS vs 1 week of Video, call it even.
We DEFINITELY DON'T have a beef with Rubicon Owners Forum and do not wish to have one....Please.
Thanks for your time. Again, I am truly sorry this has reached your Forum and disrupted Rubicon Members. It was never intended.
You can kick me off now."
Everybody knows about that, dumbass. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Nice effort on the video. Looked like fun.
I do understand Dennis's position. There's alot of bad footage on there that makes the H2 look bad. Dennis and gang are protective of the community and you should take that into account.
He is capable of generating contraversy. But that's one of the big reasons most people log on. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I don't come here often. But when I do, guaranteed he's got his fingers in the pie. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
