I bought an '05 SUT last weekend with 40k on the clock. Well, the gremlins are starting to come out now.. :OWNED: I noticed a small couple of drips on the inside of the windshield when it rained the other day.. I replaced the windshield hoping to have this problem fixed. (Dealership paid for the replacement).

Well, today, it rained a lot more and when I came to a stop after the truck sat for 8 hours, about 1 oz of water came out of the headliner and driver side visor clip. I thought maybe one of the marker lights could be the culprit, so I checked them for fit. All fit fairly tight, except the one in the middle that is directly above the steering wheel. It was a little loose.. i took it out, of course breaking one of the retention clips and used some silicone to realseal it back up until i order a new one in the morning. (I'm hoping that this may stop the leak with the silicone..?)

I checked the sunroofgasket, as well as the sunroof drip lines that run in the headliner and they are attached. I am unable to see any wet spots on above the headliner on the sheet metal..

Anyone have any ideas or know of a likely culprit?

When this happen to mine, the culprit was clogged sunroof drip lines. Never had a problem with my marker lights.

My 03 had serious leaks from the roof marker lights.

Well.. i thought the problem was solved until i washed it today.. leak is still there.. i put rtv around all of the marker lights.. I guess next is the drain tubes.. I would think that the sunroof would have some standing water in the drip tray before the tubes if they were clogged.. ???

I dunno.. But I am stumped and the frustration is growing...

My '06 has been in 4 times for roof leaks. Got in it this morning and it was dripping again. All roof lights were replaced, tubes cleaned and the last time, the entire sunroof assembly was replaced. Still leaking. I'm playing the service game while it's under warranty. I've had no fewer than 7 trucks with power roofs and never had a tube clog as the dealers like to claim, but this is the first GM (and probably the last) that I've ever owned. Damn shame that this has been a problem with these trucks since they came out in '03 and they don't have it figured out yet. Good luck.

It took almost 18 months for the Hummer dealer to finally fix the leak on my 2006 SUV. They changed the windshield twice thinking it was that, no sunroof. Turned out to be the roof seam seal over the passenger side. Tried to repair, a sloppy fix, but finally had to replace the seal the whole length of the roof on the passenger side. Just noticed that the seal over the driver's side has some cracks while washing and expect it will start leaking in the future.

Pull the corner roof marker lights there is a rubber plug with the wires running through it make sure it is installed flush and not crimped. Put a little silicone around the edge and reinstall. I also had the issue with the 3 marker lights on the roof as well. Check the onstar antenna as well while you are up there. I periodically use the compresed air for computers and electronics to blow air through the drain hoses. This does not give enough pressure if clogged completly to blow off the drain tubes.

Good Luck, I have been leak free for 5 years.

You have had a few suggestions about where the leak may have come from, so what's the verdict????
