It got STUCK? WHat about the Great Hummer Legend? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Also, were those off-road tires or (mostly) on-road tires?

They are the 33's that come with the off-road package. Too bad the don't sell it with a built in winch!

Nice pics. I am sure with time you will build a nice portfolio of your off-road excursions.

I hosted a Hummer Happening for one of the dealerships I work with this weekend. They brought an H3 base model to the event. We had a tone of fun with it. The dealership let anyone test-drive it off-road so I did have a chance to wheel in it.

One thing I did notice was the pedal location was very tight. I could not work the gas without hitting the break. It felt very uncomfortable.

The truck has plenty of power and gearing to climb any hill. The traction control works very well. At one point we powered up and thru very soft sand. Keep in mid the tires were not aired down or even had a locker.

I can't say enough about the steering radius. It is very tight. It also has a respectable amount of droop and tuck.

For those of you hard-core guys, the wheels wells are huge!! I think you could get a set of 35" tires in there.

I hope to get pics from friends in the near future.

Vincent, way to go man, cool pics.

One word of advice is to watch posting pics that are not on trails. I am sure where ever you were was a legit place to wheel but the eco nazis are always on the lookout for reasons to make off-roaders look bad. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep that in mind when posting.

As for the eco nazis, these pics were on private property, and I was driving on an overgrown hunting trail.

I usually sit in the front http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Actually, yes, I've had problems behind the front seat. I am always hauling ****, tools/supplies to fix houses, fishing/camping gear, my dog, etc.

The H3 is way too nice to put my junk in it,(Last week I dumped a gallon of paint in the Durango) and pretty cramped with the dog & all the stuff that I want to bring up north.

I've had to modify the way that I do things by either by pulling a trailer, or driving the Durango.

But asked if I would buy the H3 again? Definitely! I love every bit of it!

Looks nice. That's just what I would do, take it off road and get stuck on the first try!!!

Time for the lift kit and 40'" mud tires!!!

"1st time off-road"
- uhh, I hate to tell you...1 tire is still on the road.

"going into ditch - Locked Diff"
- your still not off-road

"Uphill fromditch to field"
- seriously, golf carts tackle bigger obstacles

"Climbing out of ditch"
- that wasn't a ditch, it was a speedbump

"Looking back into ditch."
- did you notice, it wasn't a ditch? and you aren't off road?

"Back to the road"
"4 LO with locked diff crawls like a baby!"
- and gets stuck on its own diaper in a pyle of its on poo

"The hill was a little too easy, let's try mud"
- no ****, it was a grassy hill that you admited to getting mowed

"Ahhh No Problem, It's a Hummer"
- marketing fluff don't mean ****, bring your ride further than 5 feet from the pavement

"Lesson 1: Never park in a mud hole to take a photo, keep the wheels rolling!"
- really, a 6000# pig riding on 31x10.50's doesn't float?

"Not looking to good! I'm sure Mom & Dad are really glad I took them for a ride now..."
- wow, how sad...you must have spun the wheels for a few revolutions each...look at all that mud you got all over your pretty car.

"Dad busted the muffler off his transport here on the way out"
- but he didn't get stuck and left with is pride?

"Note the erect D-Rings http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif"
- wow, blinging in the culdesac for sure
