Hey guys!

I am doing the 50,000 mile service on my H3 and I am trying to figure out how to change the transfer case oil . My question is how are you guys getting the oil into the transfer case after draining it? Are you using a siphon or manual pump of some sort? This is no job for a funnel from what I can see........Any other recommendations for the fifty thousand mile service..... I already changed out the air filter, and I heard it is also a good time to change the transfer case oil in the front and rear axles..... I am planning on holding off on that because I have yet to engage in any hardcore off roading.

P.S I already know about the extra fill through the speed sensor

Figured it out! You can either use a turkey baster or a small siphon pump from autozone for oil and fluid transfer.. Any other recommendations for 50,000 mile service will be greatly appreciated.

You got it! Use a hand pump, there is not a lot of room to manuever a turkey baster at the right angle to fill it.

You need a fluid transfer pump of some type. I just did mine (at 19K) and it came out pretty dark. I used synthetic fluid and am probably going to increase that interval to every 10K to make sure it lives to a ripe old age. I also did the diff's. The front was pretty clear and the back wasn't to dark but obviously had some wear particles in it. I would recommend doing your diffs now. They're pretty easy (drain plugs and fill plugs) and take about 5 quarts of synthetic fluid.
