Went over to Sewell Dallas for the H3T preview earlier today.

I have to say, after getting up close and personal, I am really
digging this little truck. I now have thoughts of a nice little
black number with a V-8, front locker, cast iron front diff,
sporting 35?s and a bevy of off-road accoutrements.

It looked a lot more proportional in person than it does in the publicity shots
or than it did on the turntable at the auto show. I could see Hummer
selling a LOT of these trucks.

Thought I?d share a few pics:

http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w28/Gunner_45_pics/H3T/100_2379Medium.jpg

Not much was changed on the interior. New rearview mirror with integrated
backup camera monitor, re-located trac control switch to accommodate the
front locker control, and a nifty little detent in the rear doors for holding
a drink and miscellaneous stuff?..

The compartments in the bed are nice but rather smallish?not sure if they are
waterproof. Looks like those rails can accommodate all manner of aftermarket
racks and carriers.

Gunner,
Nice post!
The H3T does seem to grow on you...

Not certain the recent announcement will help. The H3T with its options has what it takes to be a winner!

Excellent pictures! You could have a second career as a photographer! I like the spare tire tucked up underneath. The spare behind the gate on the H2SUT looks cool, but makes it awkward and impossible sometimes to open the gate in the garage. It doesn't look like it has the air compressor in the back like the H2 with air suspension/adventure has. I find myself using the compressor in the bed all the time on my H2 - a worthwhile option I would think for the H3T. When I had my H3 I bought one of those 12v accessory plug in air compressors and it was so slow compared to the one on the H2. Does the window go down and the back fold down to extend the bed into the cab like the H2SUT? Overall, I think Hummer did an excellent job on this.:clapping: :clapping: :perfect10s:

It definitely looks better in person. It's actually kind of growing on me too. With a lift, it might even be a decent wheeler.

Spare underneath is okay, until you want to take it wheeling. First thing I would do is move it to the bed. The H2 only has the compressor if you have air suspension. And if you get a decent portable compressor like a ViAir, it will be much faster than the H2's. The H3T has a separate bed, like a normal pickup - not integrated like the H2 SUT. So no pass-through.

Nice catch. I didn't even notice that.

The one they had in Moab had the silver colored bumper, like the rest of the '08s. But the pics that were posted of the H3T in LV look like it has the black bumper also. I hope they go back to that style. Looks a lot better.

ya i noticed those pictures as well about the silver front piece, what im thinking maybe is becuase that was put together on the 08 production line so probably all parts were kept from the normal 08's minus the modifications of the 't' style, and if they are going back to the black piece for the 09's it would make sense these ones which are production line versions (not test ones) would have it as well, ohh well im hoping they go back to it cuase for some reason that front piece really bothered me./... and also it must be a pain in the as$ to get the spare tire on/off

I must say I never really thought id like this truck. OF all the prototype pics ive seen I just wasnt all that impressed with the look, even though it looked awsome on paper. But after seeing these, Im coming around. That truck looks sweet. Id take that over tacoma or any othe midsized pickup anyday. Especially with some 35's!!!

Good thought - the MOAB ones were built w/ 08 parts, this is one of the first 09s - had the VIN to prove it! I posted a shot in CA that was from a photo shoot -- it had the black bumper too. 08s will be easy to spot. :)

I was at my dealer Saturday for an oil change and tire rotation. I was in there around 12:30 to 1:30 and there was not one custormer in there. That was a bit of a bummer. They also didn't have any H3T's yet. I was hoping to see one first hand.

NICE! :clapping:

I love it more in person too! It's SO beautiful and tough looking! i should tell my uncle about these new trucks! He has a construction business and he has 3 Dodge Rams (two 2500s and one 1500). He uses trucks a LOT. And please tell me there is a tax loop hole thing for buying a Hummer for a business. I read somewhere about you being able to get a HUGE tax break if you buy a Hummer for your business. PLEASE say its true, thats the only way he will get another truck (he just bought his third truck)

But yea i am for sure going to get one of these suckers! Go Hummer!

Also do you know what that big red chunky lookin thing is in the background of the third picture?

-----------------------------------

I was taking a close look in the bed of the truck and noticed little compartment lookin things on the sides...At first i thought it was storage which would be pretty cool. Then i found a picture of what it really is..Does anyone know what this is exactly? Looks like something to strap stuff in.

Here are a few shots of the pre-production truck Sewell had out on the trails
at their Fathers Day Hummer happening. Looks a lot nicer with the after market
tires and wheels. (IMHO)

[QUOTE]

Are you talking about that red H3 in the background of pic # 3.

I guess I could see how that might look a little strange. Actually, it
was a fully bling'ed H3 with a monochromed paint scheme. Makes the
rig look completely different without the plastic being black. That is
one of Sewell's favorite customizations....and they do it well.

As for those compartments, they are in fact some very, very shallow
storage areas. I see them being used to store tie downs, roll up tool kits,
gloves, small things that you would need to have handy outside the truck.
I have no idea whether or not they are water proof.

Seeing the side profile of the truck makes me not like it. I think it would need to be lifted with 35's to balance out the longer wheelbase.

Alot of the crew cab trucks (tacoma, frontier) look good because of their ground clearance and shorter beds.

i just think it looks funny hwo the fender flare isnt blended in with the rear door like on the regular H3

Grrr....Well I dont care...I am still getting a Hummer nomatter what!

The tax break for buying a vehicle with a GVW over 6,000 pounds till exists albiet slightly less. Last year you could write off $25K of the vehicle in the first year as opposed to the good ole days when you could write the entire truck off the first year.....BUT this should not be considered tax or legal advice and all questions should be directed to your tax accountant or tax attorney. Had to throw in the disclaimer.

I have read that the H3T will average around $30,000. Sounds like a wonderful price to me! I just hope they dont go to much higher than that..
