View Full Version : NEW Clear HX pics from the set of Transformers 2... Plus H3T
New pics of the HX and H3T have been snapped on the set of Transformers 2...
Is it just me or is that HX built off a modified H3 frame?
One more thing, this HX was likely built by the same garage that built the rest of the vehicles for the movie... Now, if a (fairly) small garage could build a fully running HX (and they built more than one) in a few months, why can't GM get a full functioning version out in, lets say, 6 months?
Sad... such an awesome rig that would revolutionize the offroad segment AND get great mileage...

Nice pic. Perhaps it'll be on ebay motors after the movie is out :)
The more I look at it, the more it clear that it's sitting on the H3 frame... You can see part of the frame in the rear wheelwell and it's identical to the H3's, and they're even using the inner splashguard piece from the H3.
It's hard to tell what kind of springs it's using, but you can still see the H3's original leafspring hangers on the frame, but it's hard to tell if it's still using those and if it's using a solid axle or independent suspension.
Need more pics of this rig

Its a shame that this thing will probably never make it. Looks awsome as hell.

:iagree: It does look like they are using the leaf springs in the rear.
I like the paint job on the H3T!

I really want one of these....
GM: BUILD THIS CAR!
Well, with these pictures we've finally got a good look at the underbody of the HX, and it is definitely built off a shortened H3 frame. High-res versions can be found here

You can see the H3's frame rails, crossmembers and shields, along with the inner wheelwell plastic covers. It also still still sports the leafspring setup of the H3, along with the torsion bar front.
The HX being built off the H3 platform would be a great way of keeping HUMMER and the Shreveport/Africa plants running. It's obviously a perfect fit.

Let's hope that the similarities to the H3 are just for the movies version. When is this movie coming out? It would make sense to announce the HX when the film rolls out.

...why would you say that? The H3 is an incredible platform to build on, and would be the only logical choice.

Excellent find, RazM!!!! :perfect10s:
GM really better be secretly readying the HX for production. I'm really digging the H3T. Might need to try one out.

That is the best looking H3T I have seen. Makes me like them a lot more. Is that an available color ? Also the HX is going to be bad ass. Hopefully the russians or AM General hurry up and buy hummer to get this show on the road !
