So I removed the spare tire but didn't want to drill any holes in my rear bumper but needed to mount my plate and a DOT approved light.

So I had my buddy weld a piece of flat stock to the passenger's side tow hook and added a light, beats paying alot of money. Best of all, didn't have to drill a single hole into my bumper.

"knock on wood" ....but I don't even carry my spare......I never wanted to waste the time and money mounting it on the back....and I like not having it on the inside.

I'll just get AAA to help out if needed.

Anybody done this on a SUV not SUT? I'd like to put mine in the license plate holder thats there on the SUV but doesn't have lights cause they're on the spare tire holder.

Hey pteam, I broke down and finally bought the wiring harness and license pocket for the back door from gmpartsdirect. It was around $375 for both pieces. I know it's a lot but it does look a lot better now without the spare. I'll post pics as soon as I can.
