Just bought a 2008 H3 from Arizona to Alberta and am impressed with the performance so far.
But, I was surprised to have to pay GM $250.00 for the compliance letter for them to prove to me that this model has no call backs outstanding.
It is this mentality that has clouded the GM reputation and will continue to do so if they survive.
I would gladly pay a Hummer dealer, a small amount, for the letter but, I hear that some of them are not co-operating with the import buyers.
Would it not benifit them to be more helpfull?
I wonder, if Hummer is sold (Russian buyer rumoured) will the same GM Hummer facilities be shared? There is a ton of money invested in the joint facilities by the dealers.

BMW and Mercedes do this too for any vehicles imported from the US into Canada. Only its a 500 dollar letter and a couple thousand in modifications to make the cars "fit for canadian consumption".
