Yeah for me it's a trip to the Spray wash joint to blast off the winter gack every 7-10 days. I never rub the paint with a cloth in the winter. I just wash the salt off with the high pressure water at a long distance from the paint. And if thier is any dirt that won't come off with the spray... Then it stays till it's warm and I can usea cloth towel to wash it by hand. I have wax on the body for the winter.

Yes, my red H3 has been outside for the last 2 years. Rain, sun, snow etc. I try to wash it weekly or after big snowstorms to keep the salt off.

But thats about to change. Buying a house! And it has a garage.:clapping:

NO, We deal with the CRAZZY's all year long...I went to a local "Battle of the Bands" (rock & roll, 50's, 60's & 70's) and the writer Dave Barry was the MC...

"I can't figure out why you people in Miami complain about the driving here", "why as far as I can see everyone obeys the traffic laws"

"The laws of all 58 countries (not countys) that make up the population of South Florida... !"

Nice ride! Not a Z06 or Blue Devil (whatever it's called in production)...? My buddy got one of those Z06s a little over a year ago, and man...wow! But then again, I'm used to driving a Subaru wagon, and even my H3 is so much faster and more fun than that Subaru...

Z06 ..get's you carbon fiber fendors and reduced weight ....non removeable carbon fiber roof .. plus about 100 more HP.. It's made to race. But it stickers for about $80 G's..

The Blue Devil is Super charged and pumps out 638 HP. Sticker $103,000.00.
Dealer asking price ...????? Way over $103K. And you have to know some one to get one.

I'd rather drive my 3 any day of the week. Long out of state cruz trips are in the 09 Vette. Local Hot Rod Shows in the 65 BB502.

In other words ... I love the Crap out of my H3:clapping:

Can't take the money with you... Spend that chit while you can and enjoy life. That's what the H3 and Off Road-en is all about also. It is time for me to cash out and burn up as much oil as they can pump out of the ground..!!!

Gas..$15.00 a Gallon...No "F" Problem...I'm Drive-en my Chit..!! Besides.. the 09 can get 32 MPH on the highwy in 6th gear!!! and That ain't no poop.!!

My mission now in life is to burn up as much gas as I can.. So. Pump that gack...I'll Burn it. :clapping:

Thanks's Guy... If you look in the pic I posted in the first post you'll see that I do have a "Cover-It" Tent thingy.. The 65 Vette I also own is now living in there. Ain't no room on the property for another Tent...unless I block my circular driveway.

Just some good old Carnaba Wax and a good pressure wash on the 3 once a week to keep the salt and road gack off and she'll be fine. I do wish I had a Gee-rage for the 3 but it's looking great after 2 years.

My H3 stayed outside.....even during Hurricane Ike.

http://i38.tinypic.com/t9faxi.jpg

The garage is reserved for my 1962 Boston Whaler which is a little more fragile and has paid its dues to get preferential treatment. :D

Fortunately, the H3 avoided any damage, unlike the Suburban across the street, that got crunched in half by a huge tree.

Dam Spuds..!! You were lucky..Looks like some big trees in the area near the H3. Of course..If a tree had fallen on the 3..the 3 wood have split it in half..:jump:

.....if so I would have taken my insurance check down to the dealer and gotten an H3T........:fdance:

But its impossible to replace a nearly 50 year old Whaler.

VNV,I must admit that I'm a Corvette lover, even though I've never owned one. It's one of those things that I've always wanted but just couldn't seem to afford.I've got to say that your Corvette gets my blood going more than any Hummer could.Best of luck with the new machine.

I hear Yah Brother,
I started with Vette's when I was 18. Bought one with no motor or tranny. Took me a year and a half to get it together. That one was used to step up to the next one and so on. They go up in value with age.

First you drive them off the lot when thier new...they go down in value...then they get old and start to go up again. Depends on the year. I bought the 65 about 12 years ago with a loan from my 401K. I paid myself back with interest and it let me drive my investment at the same time as the Vette went up in value.

Now it's worth almost 9 times what I paid. Of course I put some bucks into it to modify it to my taste.

The collector car hoby is doing much better then the Market..You might want to consider a loan from your 401K or IRA. Spend it now while your still Alive.

Think about it.. you made it back from the Chit Hole over seas...You OWE IT TO YOURSELF.:perfect10s:

I leave mine out year around with a good wax job right before and right after winter. No worries. During the really nasty winter weather, I run it through the wash once per week to keep any corrosion at bay. So far, the only things that have really corroded (surface only) are the leaf springs and drive shaft.
