Kentucky Man Sets Cockroach-in-Mouth Record (http://www.asylum.com/2008/10/17/kentucky-man-sets-cockroach-mouthing-record/)

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.asylum.com/media/2008/10/a4s_dbrail101508a_41976c.jpg Among the world records out there to break, putting the most three-inch cockroaches in one's mouth would seem to be one of the least appetizing to attempt. But this was the feat Kentuckian Travis Fessler chose to mark his place in history ... Sort of.
Fessler -- whose day job is a professional sword swallower and fire-eater -- placed 11 Madagascar hissing cockroaches (http://www.metro.co.uk/news/world/article.html?Man_breaks_cockroaches-in-mouth_record&in_article_id=361959&in_page_id=64) in his mouth and held it closed for the obligatory 10 seconds. The bugs measured over 2 1/2 inches in length, and, as per the rules, all survived the stunt.
"One of them tried to crawl down my throat," Fessler said of the attempt. "That made me gag quite badly. It was difficult not to be sick but I held it in and saw it through to the end." The new world record holder said he didn't want to swallow them because he is a vegetarian.
After the stunt, it was unclear who was troubled more by the experience -- the man who put roaches in his mouth, the tortured bugs or the judges who preside over these sorts of record attempts as a profession.
We're guessing a three-inch cockroach could've been deadly if it crawled down Mr. Fessler's throat. Check out Asylum's gallery of incredible, deadly animal attacks ...

One of the worst things about Palmetto's is that they scurry so quickly! They could be sitting dead still, then suddenly a light goes on and they either start flying or running looking for a crack to crawl into. UGH!!!!!!!!!! I remember (when in Miami) sleeping and feeling something on my big toe. I quickly flung my foot forward to rid whatever it was on my toe. I HEARD it hit the wall!!! I turned on the light to see what it was and it was like a BEHEMOTH Palmetto. OMG, OMG. I hate those things. You can have the most pristine living conditions .. a/c .. and they will STILL get in to look around. Ugh.

Yes they are the scariest things ever. When I was younger and living at home I heard something in the utility room in the dog food bag. I opened it up and two flew out at me. I could never sleep knowing one was alive so guess who didn't get any sleep that night? They're so evil that if you think about them they'll show up. *must stop thinking about them*
