Hey everyone,

I'm interested in your thoughts. If you had the chance to update your H2, what would you update and why? Would you want the exterior design changed? How about the interior design? Maybe the suspension? Maybe nothing? Speak your mind on all topics.

Thanks,

[[uniblack]]

Better Navigation system, Beefier suspension, and a diesel engine... If someone can figure out how to put a power stroke in one of these things let me know... My old Excursion had a power stroke and got 18 mpg... If I would of spent another $1,000, I could've added another couple hundred horsepower and then we'd be in business... How about that, an H2 with a diesel engine with 500 hp getting 18 mpg... that would be just sick...

Hey, who are you and why are you asking these questions with in your first two posts?

I think you either 1)work for GM, 2)work for another manufacturer, 3)are involved with some left wing hate group, or 4) are involved with some other 4x4 group and want to use this info for fun at our expense.

Prove me wrong little fellow.

adjustable suspension similar to range rover, integrated winch, c.t.i.s., rear AC controls, dim the bright light indicator on dash, boost HP and tourque, larger wheels w/ mud tires as standard, XM radio...

As I just posted on the other thread:

Thanks.

Love the truck, but obviously wanted more power. I went just a smidge over the top.

More ground clearance would be nice and that darn banging key on the dash thing...

uniblack,
In no particular order:
I'd like to see a higher quality dash, actually really just the very top piece of the dash that is closest to the window. It is very cheap and should be of higher quality to convey a better sense of strength.

Stronger tie rods, as others mentioned.

Definitely a more powerful engine. I'd prefer not to decrease gas mileage as a result but would actually purchase a higher hp engine if it decreased the mileage only slightly. Diesel would be preferable though.

The ability to wade in deeper water. (Protect/raise electrical components)

Easier ability to add aftermarket radio without losing the steering wheel controls.

AC power outlet or 2.

Full 3rd row bench. (Like the AC idea for the 3rd row as well)

In general increase the quality of the interior materials. (The door panels just seem cheap, not to mention all the crap I get from friends every time I drive past an Aztec and they see it has the exact same AC vents ;-) )

The above suggestions are based on the 25k+ miles I have put on my H2. I would buy it again in a heart beat if I had to make the purchase decision again but wanted to provide honest feedback on what I feel would improve sales, the ownership experience, and general quality. I'd be happy to provide more details anytime you'd like. Thanks,

Chris

Why don't you private topic one of us with a verifiable GM email address or phone # to put us at ease. Otherwise I'd lean towards choice #2.

The "pavers" will tell you they want some more power from the engine, a few interior upgrades, a nav system, some more A/C power and the key-banging thing resolved.

The "off-roaders" who make up a small enough number that you honestly don't care about us....will tell you they want more clearance, a stronger front-end, front-locker and more off-road capabilities. Oh yeah...the licorice dispenser too.

I want a licorice dispenser for the SUT! This situation need to be addressed before the massaging seats and the onboard fridge! I will not consider the SUT without a licorice dispenser! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Licorice is gross. Chew on a candle if you want something like that.

Now a Condom Dispenser would be cool! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

zero.... help me out... what does the troll symbolize???

i think something to get the front end off the ground a bit more....there is alot of nice protection underneath, but why did the cheap out and protect the GAS TANK with a peice of cheap plastic...the whole underneath ought to be seriously protected... i put a hurting on my muffler about 2 weeks ago dragging a tree backwards through some woods and did see the tree stump behind me in the tall grass.....ouch...(weak excuse to move to a corsa exhaust though) una

Someone that gets on this site and starts talking smack and creating issues with all the H2 owners and soon to be owners, they are usually people who do not own one and probably never will, so they come here and talk trash......

Well I have to say that I would surely improve the Quality, It is a "Gotta Have Product" from GM, but the Quality results are not Helping the "Gotta have Product" idea. so far on my H2
has had the normal problems that all of the H2 owners have had in this forum. even some more like a water leak (2x) coming from the diversity lights.

Make a black leather interior an option.

The tan reminds me of the stuff that comes out of my nose when I have a sinus infection.

I'd like to see GM take a different direction... make the next hummer extremely practical on and off road:

In other words, make an H1 without as much metal, better aerodynamics, better interior (completely reconfigurable and washable... take a cue from the Element), increase the ground clearance (if this means going with direct drive and putting the train through the car, do it - it will probably improve mpg anyway), and make it leaner and meaner... it's too tall and not wide enough.

I think I would like to have a diesel engine for better mpg. It would sound great and fit well with the persona of the vehicle.

Mount the shifter on the column like my old Suburban had and free up all that space the shifter takes up in the center console.

The socket head cap screws that are all around the interior dash would really look super cool if they were just higher quality bolts. I plan to swap mine out for bolts that are nicely forged. It would cost so little but have a big effect.

Lastly add an optional backup camera because you can not see out the back of this truck.

All and all I am very happy with what GM has done with the H2. I liked it so much I bought one! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Cheers

How about the 400hp Duramax and the 6sp Allison
If no Dmax then atleast the Allison for it's pto access (then REAL hydraulic winch)instead of tranfer case.
E locker standard front and rear
Detriot locker option front and rear
Full size 3rd bench seat
MT tire option
Rear AC
SWB and LWB option (short wheelbase- long wheelbase)ie,Tahoe-Suburban style.
Different gear ratio options (4.11, 4.56, 5.13, 5.38)
Marine blue and sport red paint
