I wanted to put a nice BIG TV behind the driver... On the headliner behind the driver ( so basically an overhead unit). But I want a dvd player unattached to the unit...

I want to do this for my kids, so they can watch their cartoons in the back... Whats the biggest TV can you put there ??? And if you have one please post pics, so I can get an idea of what to do ... I was wondering if I can get a 19" or a 20" widescreen there...

just get 2 9" inch monitirs on each headrest so your kids can watch different movies if they want to.

yeah I dont like having the 2 monitors. I want one big one (soo when my friends shop puts in the 2008 third row seats in) my kids in the back can see the tv as well...

I also agree on the head rest monitors. There are some good aftermarket ones that have their own dvd players in each headrest so there is the possibility to watch 2 different movies.
These are easy to install and with wireless headset everyone could be happy moving down the road.

I heard that you couldnt watch the same thing on both head rest monitors. By that I meant would you need 2 dvds of the same movie if my kids want to watch the same thing, is this true ????
Plus, My wife usually sits behind the front passenger seat and my second oldest ( Junior) sits in the middle ( until my until wife gives birth to our next son in may ) then Junior gets moved to the 3rd row seat with his sister ( thats why I'm retro fitting 2008 full 3rd row seats in my 2005 )...

There are no ends as to how big you want it its all up to your liking my buddy had a damn 42" plasma in his yukon!!!! I installed a 15.4" in my navigator and it looks great and plus it came with the wireless head phone transmitter. You can find good prices on ebay.

Put headrests in the middle row seats for rear or just go with a smaller overhead flipdown like 12" maybe a little smaller. You can get the overhead with own dvd player also. You can tie all in to watch same thing or watch 3 different things as well as you may want to add a game console where say 2 headrest play games against each other or seperate while the rear watch tunes show. It could be vice versa. Now days you can do anything.

Dragon is putting in 6 screens 12" touchscreen in front middle console, 4 headrests, a 15" flipdown behind the second row captain chairs even though there is no 3rd row. No room for now but, have a single seat and double bench for rear if we ever change inside design so they fit. The 15" in rear is more for shows and when setup we can plug in as big a screen sitting outside as we want. The custom computer handling all audio/video as well as navigation and tuning software allows us to do this stuff plus almost anything else which I'm sure I forgot something.

The thing is the more elaborate you get go to a recommended pro and not just drive up to someplace. It is important unless your really good with this stuff. I thought I was until Dragon showed me what all he could with a vehicle from basic to setting up rides to compete in sound contests and they win. I realized unless it had real good instructions, which they don't, I had no idea what all was possible.

I'm just trying to encourage you to have it done right if you plan to keep the ride a good while. Like me I have no plan of ever letting go of my 2005 H2 SUV even when I buy my daily driver HX Hummer which will begin my new hobby of offroading which I have yet to get into. The HX is my Q and will if I get well by time HX is out will get me to MOAB finally.

Sorry for drifting off there but, do it right. There are many options but, headrests front flipdown rear most likely will be most flexible.
