Just bought an 07 H3 yesterday,, I had a nissan 4X4 that I bought new in 1992 that totally rusted away,, don't want this thing to do the same with all the salt they put on these roads here. Sugestion and comments on rust proofing the H3.

Keep it clean and rinse the undercarrige of salt periodically in winter. Give it a good wash down in spring underneath to get salt and other corrosive elements off.
The fenders and many body connectors are plastic and the block and some of the elements are made of aluminum. If you are diligent no rust proofing is required:beerchug:

The best surefire way to keep it rust free is to move to a southerly state where the threat of morning frost shuts down the public school system!:giggling:

I use a lanolin spray under body before going onto the beach which I think gives a similar problem to your salted roads.

It works really well and I hose down underneath after each trip.

Not sure if that works for you but might be worth a thought.

Dealers and body shops offer a under body liner. It's garbage though. You can't really defeat the salt demons. Salt will find a weak spot and rust you out. You just have to stay on top of your game by keeping your truck clean and make sure they carwash sprays out the wheel wells really well. I worked at an automatic carwash through highschool, haha.
