Is it easy to tell if a H3 has a monsoon system ? Im looking at one with nav and chrome package. Sorry if this is a dumb question just curious how I would know ?

i think most come with it. unless you go with the very low end.
it probably depends on the headunit that it comes with and i think the factory nav along with the 6-disc unit both are part of the monsoon package

:iagree: Thats a easy way :D

If its a base radio there will be nothing there
If its a base radio with the adventure package you get a left cubby compartment like the right side.

If you can't see in the back window, you can also check the head unit. The Monsoon will have the 6cd in dash w/ a load button, and the base system will only have an eject button next to the CD slot.

Although, in my new 09, H3T, I have the 6 CD changer, but I dont think I have monsoon. Anyway, no place to put that subwoofer in the T. And Im glad cuz I thought it was just way too over bearing. I much prefer the more even sounding audio in the H3T. If/when I want bass, I'll turn it up on the EQ :)

Look in your glove box and see if you have UQ3 Enhanced Audio or UQA which has the amplifier (Monsoon).

Correct - H3Ts do not have a sub - but rather have hollowed out doors to simulate a sub with the rear speakers.

<Johnny Carson Voice> I did not know that.

Thx Brian. Builder, I'll take a look. See that's why I joined this forum. When we get info from ground zero (h3 builder and F5 and a host of others I am forgetting)! :)

Not sure. Never riden in the back seat :). So I never looked. They don't appear to be different than H3 rear door speakers but I am not sure.
btw, I have UQA in the truck. So there ya go. Monsoon with no subwoofer.

If you have the enhanced radio with 6 cd and monsoon which on the truck it uses 6x9 dual cone speakers in door. I just got the following information from gm on the 2009 H3T truck if anyone is interested.
