Love the forum, long time reader first time poster.
Just took ownership of a 2007 SUT, its beautiful. Took it home and decided to take down the mid tailgate and check out the truck bed, after about an half hour of enjoying my time with my new toy. i decided to put the rear gate backup and close up shop. After closing the midgate, i went to roll up the rear window when a message appeared "rear access door open" i thought huh maybe i didnt close it right. Watching the display i shut the midgate again only to have it stay on. Ive tried turning the ignition off and closing it again to no avail. Has anyone experienced this? Know how to solve it? Otherwise ill have to drive 30 miles to the dealership to get it fixed. I'd hate to have it be something simple.

Thanks for your help.

Hello:

I had this happen to me the day I picked up my SUT, testing it at the dealer. Found that if both locks on the back are not secure to the midgate, then you will receive that error on the display and your window will not go up.

That was my experience when this happened to me.

If I run across anything else in the Service Manual I will post it.

Hopefully this helps.

Unlock the midgate and try again. This time try having someone on both sides when you lock it into place. If you still get the error message, drive around a little bit and the problem should go away. If it doesn't....... take it to the dealer and get it checked out:popcorn:

Yes, I've had that message once before too. Spray some WD40 on the locking clips on the rear partition and close it firmly. That's what my dealer recommended on my SUT 2 years ago and it worked.
