Snapping, slapping, popping noise coming from front end / diff of my 2005 H2 w/ 37k miles when turning left out of parking spaces / driveways. Initially thought it was coming from suspension, but after a trip to local suspension shop they said it was coming from diff. Had fluids changed recently and thought maybe a non synthetic oil was used, so drained diff and put in Royal Purple and even added GM limited slip additive for extra lube. Noise still there! It sounds almost like plastic snapping! Maybe new half shaft needed, diff gears slipping! I'm not sure where to start, but I don't want to start tearing my truck apart w/o some sort of direction! Any ideas?!?

I had a similar noise on my 2004 at about the same milage. Dealer said it was the front body mounts. Do some searching there are posts about how to do it yourself. Hope this helps.

That sounds like a 1/2 shaft to me. Especially if the problem occours when turning the wheels.

sounds like a CVC problem ,check and see if the boots are ripped. if they are bad change both shafts ,the other won't be far behind .

Boots are in good shape! Probably going to start w/ 1/2 shaft! Thx for the input!

grab them and shake them ,see if they move around .
I don't know if you've already checked the undercarriage protection. Take off the skid plate and the ucp, then drive it and see if it still does it. Sometimes the skid plate or ucp loosens up and causes a clunk noise when turning tight one way.
