i got service 4wd light on.
when i start the truck, all the lights on 4wd switched come on for few seconds and get turned of.
light on 4wd-hi used be on all the time.
ive never done no off-roading,only switched 4wd settings few times just to see what happens in past 5 years
i only drive clouded city streets in japan, so i dont really need to put it in 4wd-low or even lock the diff.
but its very annoying knowing that this serious off-road truck been not able to even put the transfer in low or lock!!!
shop told me it could be just the switch.
so i changed the switch and didint fix any thing.
could anyone tell me where exactly is t-case fuse located?
i got service 4wd light on.
ill to try reseting the computer by pulling the t-case fuse out and also disconnect batteries for 10min.
if anyone has any advice, ill be greatly appriciated.
thanks

Kinda sounds like this may be the issue. Would be helpful if you could scan it for the code.
Customers may comment about a Service 4WD light on solid or intermittently. Technicians may discover a C0306 DTC hard set or in history.
<A href="http://gsi.xw.gm.com/si/showDoc.do?docSyskey=2278950&from=sm#ss2-2278950">Recommendation/Instructions:

This concern may be caused by high resistance through the motor brushes. The highest concentrations of concerns have occurred in geographic locations with low 4WD usage.
If the DTC C0306 is current or in history dealers should clear the DTC from history then cycle the actuator motor 25 times by shifting the transfer case between 4hi, 4hi lock and 4lo lock. A revised interim software reflash is available in TIS2WEB. This software was released to dealers 07/22/07 on version 7.5. Reflash the TCCM (Transfer Case Control Module) with the latest calibration listed in TIS2WEB.

vett,
no i havent fixed it yet.
i just took it to the shop today to have it checked.
they hooked up teck2 handheld, showed there some problem in the transfer circuit.
it was just simple scanner, didnt explain any detail.
i left my truck there to have it actually checked.
the guy told me if the circuit (whatever that is) needs to be replaced, it could cost more than $1500!!!

im also having very annoying cracking sound like something metal is hittin when i turn steering close to full and moved little.
i grease it up very often.
can anyone help on this please?
