Install a Bluestar unit in your 2008 h2 with or without a lockpic GMX 322.
I should add non navigation radio's install is basically the same.
When a call comes in or you calling out. It will mute the radio and turn down heater fan speed, then all will resume after the call has ended.

This is the kit # for a 2008 h2
**BlueSTAR PnP GMLAN-29 Complete Kit ..........$279 **

Someone will ask about older hummer models. The install for these models will be different than the pictures below.
Kit # for H2, 2003/ 2007 or H3, 2006/2007

Hi thanks, Chris at CoSTAR Technologies is very good to deal with and fast shipping. You will lose your on star and the vioce commands the ones when you push and hold the talk button on the steering wheel to switch radio bands because now they are to answer and hanging up your phone. The navigation vioce prompts still work fine, like turn left ect. But no echo at all i talked to Scott a member here in vegas today 3000 miles from me he said it sounded like a land line. Maybe Scott will tell you in his words how it sounds on the other end?

Great write up!

I was looking at their website...which one did you actually purchase? There are several models to choose from.

Thanks.

***** When you open the bluestar box you will first need to plug the circuit board into the black motorola box and wire tie the cardboard to the bottom of the circuit board. This will protect the circuit board and keep it for shorting out on anything.

I would be intersted in a group buy. Doesn't looks like it picked up much steam though? I would be buying one for a 2003.

hey, do any of you guys know if the gmx 322 will work on my 2006 H2. i have the factory navigation, but it wont let you put a movie in and play it at all, not even in park. just says "dvd error check map dvd" when you try to install one. since it looks like it wasnt made to play a movie will the kit convert it to do so??? this may have been asked here before but i couldnt find any info on it. thanks for any help you guys can give.

Hi your nav radio does not play dvd's on screen and the GMX322 will not change it so you can watch on screen. Its unlocks 2008/09 hummer and 2007/09 gmc trucks nav units that play dvd's on screen, to play when out of park or while driving and to plug in a addresses while driving. Its also lets you turn camera's on any time if if have them. Hope this helps.

Hi Scott your welcome, glad you like it, i knew you would and no problem with the install pictures. Tracy

thanks for the reply, i actually found a kit that will allow me to play dvd's on my 06 screen, but i think i have to use an external dvd player...i think i can use the one in the console to play on all three screens. so far the only way to unlock the nav while in motion feature is to do the toggle switch on the vss wire like i read in another post.

twr

hi cyclone53, if you use the switch to turn the vss off the gps will not be tracking at that time i don't think. What is the kit you found to play the dvd on screen for your 06?

cyclone53
10-27-2009, 02:15 PM
its the universal kit listed on this website. the video show my exact model radio...

http://www.coastaletech.com/gmlockpick4.htm

but i think i still have to use a external source for the dvd player, unless i can get the console dvd to work. i read about people using the switch method and they say they just flip the switch to input the address and then switch it back to resume normal operation.

Hi cyclone53, i think your right you need a external DVD player for your 2006 truck. With my GMX322 its not gps tracking if i am watching a dvd on the front screen with the lock pick turned ON. If i am just watching the rear screen with the lock pick truned OFF as it comes from hummer then the gps is tracking. Below is from lock pick. I am not 100% sure in your truck but its likely the same. So you would have to turn OFF the front dvd screen to go back to gps tracking. Hope this helps

**During the time that you are actively viewing a factory DVD or factory AUX video while in
motion, OR while you are inputting an address or taking advantage of the other radio unblocking
technology, active map tracking is not occurring (if you switch to the map view immediately from
an unblocked function, the map will not be moving or pinpointing your exact location). Press the
MUTE button two (2) times as mentioned above to immediately restore factory operation and
begin map tracking again. It may take several seconds for the map to recalculate your current
position.
**Use of the factory camera, aftermarket cameras or either of the 2 Video/Audio inputs available
on the GMX-322 while in motion does not affect active map tracking while on.
