I was wondering if anyone installed the aftermarket LED taillights?

If so, did anyone get the factory look?

I'm looking at getting the ones made by Eagle Eyes.

An eBay seller is selling them...just wondering how reliable these lights are....and other people's feedback .

I have LED taillights and they are bright I have the smoked because it matches my truck better. As far as reliability I have had them for about 6 months with no problems here are some pictures

transama95, are the small bottom bumper ones pure black when they are not on? I have seen pics of those and they seem to have the red bulbs or soemthing showing even with the lights off? Also how did you get those on, from the back or do they somehow snap off from the front, I can't seem to figure it out. Last H2 I just taped off and nightshaded them, I couldnt get em off...

last night I ordered the exact same smoked led tail lights as yours and also the smoked euro led front parking lights. I'll reply back once I get and evaluate them... They are from Eagle Eyes, and supposed to be plug and go...

yup, just got it yesterday.. Love the new interior, engine, and smother ride and quieter interior... That's the only reason I bought it... The outside, well, I'm kinda sick of looking at... lol...

I am waiting for a bunch of cheap stick on chrome and stuff in the mail and I will post some pics then. I am going for black and chrome look, will get rid of all the other red and yellow marker colors...

I don't like to spend too much money on these things, I have A.D.D and get bored with things quickly... :notallthere:

the leds came in today. the auction said they were for up to '07 but I gave it a shot (I have '09). The stock from the H2 and the ones from the led's did not plug and play. I had to cut off both ends of all wires and after numerous tries finally found out what wire went to which. It wasn't necessarily black to black...

the instruction in the box said to use the resistor for 03-04 and not on the 05-08. When I was done hooking them up they seemed fine except the blinkers were going at about 3x the speed. After doing some reading I realized it needed the resistors and works fine now with them installed. There's also some red 3m tape (I missed it on the first one) on the resistors back so they won't bang around...

All in all I am happy with them and think they look great. There is small red reflector in the middle of each that takes away from the complete blackened look though (with the lights off daytime). It's more noticeable in person than the pics I saw before...

Here is a pic and I will post a daylight one tomorrow...

being in the halloween spirit, I just noticed in my pic above, it looks like a jack-o-lantern, with the plate light being a nose and the Hummer letters as teeth, etc.. hehehe

Looks good.
you had to cut wires and "rig" it to work on your 09?

I don't want to do that...I have a 08 ..wonder if that's the same.

Very Nice. What are the physical differences in SUV and SUT taillight housings? I am looking to upgrade, but most of what I find is for SUV models. Thanks

WOW I AM SO BUMBED, I TOTALLY SCREWED UP! Disregard my last instructions. I didn't need to cut the wires, it was plug and play!!! The top flat plugs in the pic below plugs into the stock bulb socket. You just remove the bulb ang plug in the LED plugs!! What a freakin moron,.... wow I can't believe I did that... :twak:

Also they were correct, I did not need to install their resistor as I am guessing there is one built in to the stock factory '09. I just put in my front LED marker lights and that is how I figured it out. When they originally came in, I thought "damn I have to cut these wires too"... Luckily I pulled the bulb out first and realized the matching plugs!

Sorry about that, glad I caught it and I hope nobody did the same in last 24 hours!

Here's the daylight pic. In some angles the lenses don't look as smoked as I would like and the red marker stands out a bit, but I still like the look better than when I did the night shades on my older H2...

I did the night shades on the bottom bumper lights and i should not have clear coated them as they are too shiny compared to the bumper now. I also hate that silver bottom on the 08-09's, on the balck anyway...

Also not a fan of the silver on the bottom. i was at my dealership over the summer and asked about it and they said almost all customers who bought a black 08-09 they painted it black for them

I ordered mine...and it's coming next week.

I double checked w/the vendor...and it's a plug and play.

So, I was going to confirm this once I installed it myself.

I did my front side led blinkers..and they were a plug and play as well...
it goes right in the bulb socket.

works like a charm.

I wanted to go w/the factory look on my taillights, so I ordered the red (stock look)

Overall, its very easy install- takes about 10 mins each side...that's including time to take off the factory ones.

I also had to use the resistors ...as when I didn't have them, the blinkers were blinking way too fast.

The install on the lights was a simple "pull out the factory bulbs...(except the reverse bulb) and plug in the new LED wires directly to the wire(s).

The only gripe that I noticed was that when you have your turn signals on, the rear bumper light isn't synchronized w/the led blinker- it seems like it's almost synched, but it's off and on.

I wish there was a LED (factory look) rear bumper lights to make the look uniformed.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase.

After w/the new lights-
95% satisified...would be 100% if the timing of the blinking synched up w/the rear bumper lights...like the factory ones...

but oh well.

ya, where the heck were you before I butchered my whole wiring assembly!..lol... Good to know though about the resistors as I almost took them off and rewired back to factory, lucky the cold, dreadry, rainy, snowy weather keeps me from working on my car for 8, maybe 10 months a year...

I also noticed the blinker was off a bit, it is consistant at least, stays that way the whole cycle, meaning doesn't get to the point where it overpasses the taillight, so it doesn't bug me,.. gives the person behind me at the stop light something to look at other than the trash and dead leaves on the street... I really don't like it here...
