Dear all
I am new to H2 as well as to this forum. I have got a H2, 2005 production with the vortec 6L,V8 engine. I am looking for a full kit supercharger with the best price tag, after sales service, clear installation instructions, and performance. Kindly please provide me with your recommendations. Direct urls will be the most helpful. I am located in Singapore and this kit will be delivered to Singapore and installed here.
What are the items included in the common superchargers packages? Some has option to change injectors? I am lost.
I read in various forum that installing the supercharger will raise a concern for the automatic transmission because of the additional torque. Will tranny oil cooler be the ultimate solution or is there better?
I understand that with the supercharger upgrade, it is recommended to upgrade the intercooler, exhaust as well?
Appreciate any feedback and contributions to my quest for the correct supercharger. Thanks a million and have a great week ahead.
Regards
Lester

I have a H2 SUT 2005 and I had the Vortech Supercharger installed 3 years ago. The kit is complete, including a new chip and the tool to program it. About the only thing I needed to do was to change the spark plug wires for longer ones (+3") as I installed a Borla cat-back and headers, and the wires would get burn by the headers. Also I live in Mexico, and this kit requires very little maintenance and works very well with the local 92 Octane gas.

Hi there. Thanks for the reply. Mind if you share where did you buy it from and what was included in the kit? Do you have a parts list for the kit? Thanks.

My 2005 runs a Magnuson supercharger since new. Installed it immediately. It comes absolutely complete including full color install manual. You and a few friends can take a slow just extra care weekend install and be ready for Monday.
If very mechanical it can be done on a long Saturday still with extra care. I just like to recommend a weekend with no reason to rush. Go to Magnuson website read about it check prices as they can be all over in different parts of country and I can put you in touch or get a price for you with knowing where it ships to. It comes in polished or grayish satin finish which I know costs less.
Good Luck

X3 on Magnasun.....like Taz said allow a weekend for installation, it comes with great step by step instructions(with pics), and Magnasun has some great people to answer questions before the install and after. I'm sure the other kits are good, but this is overall the best with great reliability. I've had mine for 7 months and over 12,000 miles with no issues.....it's Awesome!
Good Luck!

I would go with a Magnason for A LOT of reasons on an H2... easy of install, excellent torque and HP LOW in the RPM band (1,000 to 5,000 rpm with max torque at about 1,500 rpm staying the same to about 5,000), tried and true design of ROOTS type blower. I would not change the exhaust or add headers, you won't need more power and both will not add ANYTHING to your ride without a custom tune. Headers and exhaust upgrades will REDUCE boost by evacuating the cylinders more efficiently reducing the pressure in the intake manifold, reducing boost overall stock Maggie boost. You can compensate by adding a smaller pulley to spin the Maggie faster, and you will need a new tune with spark and fuel tables to compensate for the changes... otherwise it may run lean at wide open throttle making for a bad day and holes in pistons. So leave it well enough alone.
I would stay away from Vortech and Procharger on an H2. Each are great products and make awesome power but the difference is the higher the RPM the better the power. The HP and Torque curves on a dyno graph look like the up slope of a hill. You will make more max power at 7,000 rpm with this type of supercharger but how often will you rev that high to use it? There are excellent for a drag car, or higher revving motors.
I have done a lot of Forced Induction conversions on Vette's, Mustang's, and GTO's.

I am contemplating on the Vortech setup right now with the Jet Chips Transmission Power Shift chip and module.

Anybody knows the differences between the V-3 SCi-Trim and V-2 SQ Si-Trim?
Here's the Power Shift:

Is it really necessary?
Finally, the stick H2 has a speed limitation of 160km/hr. Will the supercharger kit overcome this problem?
Appreciate the help.
Thank you.

Can anyone point me to a reliable and fair price for the Magnason setup?

That sounds like a pretty decent deal. I just short on the cash at the moment.

That is a great deal. What did the SC do to the mileage on the H2? I noticed a slight improvement on my vette. Also, do you have the crank pinning kit, guide and bit with it?

Mileage didn't change as long as you keep your foot out of it. No throttle, no boost.... no boost, no gas mileage loss.
Also, no crank pinning kit. Not necc. on an H2. I pinned my Maggie on my C5 but not on either one of my H2's.

Transmission shifter kit?
No, when I had the transmission rebuilt, I had a shift kit put in it.

Where did you get a 98mm throttle body? Is it ETC? If so, I want one.

I'm so sorry... fat fingers... I meant 90mm. It's off a Corvette.
