Went to Windrock in Oak Ridge TN with the Hummer Club including a couple of guys from this forum HummiNBoatin' and BigZ, it was a BLAST!!! For those of you who have never taken your rig offroad.... you have NO idea what it can do until you've taken it offroad, and I know I haven't seen all that it can do but h3ll ....I have a pretty good idea lol

I'll post some videos soon too.

Enjoy.

Looks like a good time, maybe ill be able to make the next one. Was there any rocks or waht is mostly sloppy mud? One thing cool about those events is there are alot of sweet rides--some of those H1s look like machines.

What I see in the pictures:
1. Somone learned about H2 tie rods
2. You can really tell the diffrence between a H2 with a front leveling kit and without.
3. It looks like Roushed's wife enjoys wheeling so hell get to go again
4. That brushguard stil looks good and looks like a factory option when sitting next to the light blue H1.
5. The camo H2 looks like a monster...i wonder what size tires hes running. From eyeballing, it looks my maybe 42in IROKs? That truck dwarfs teh H1 behind it. Im curious what lift(s) he has on the truck and how his front end handles those big tires and the offset of those rims.
6. My rig is missing in all the pictures.

those were 42 IROKS and i believe he said he had a 6.5 inch lift even though it looked like way more than that and i know you werent calling my h2 small :fdance:

LOL, alright, that was a good reply, and here are some answers:
It was both, lots of rocks and lots of mud, BigZ had two video cameras so he'll be posting some videos soon, as a matter of fact I have some crappy videos that I'll post today or tomorrow to give you an idea.
1. I bent a Tie-Rod trying to go up an "advance" hill the first 3 hours we were there and I gassed it too much cuz I was trying to copy another guy who was trying to go up it hauling ass and not taking his time...... Learned my lesson, had a great time, got a freeby Tie-rod and almost made it to the top to where the other H2s didn't make it :D
2. yes... Huge, specially going over big rocks:giggling:
3. HA, yes, she was scared as sh*t at first but she got used to it, she'll go again.
4. THANKS!!! It looks awesome, got a lot of nice compliments about it.:excited:
5. yeah.... offroad only trailered rig...6 1/2" Bulletproof lift, 42" Iroks, front lockers... pretty sick.
6. Seriously WTF? You have GOT to come next year:clapping:

We took a bunch of pix too. I will have to post them up. My wife had the camera all weekend so I did not get to take any pix. I wish she would have taken more pix but the weather did not really allow it. :(

It was funny coming over that hump because I did not know it was there and I just flew right over it! lol. Was good times lol. Was a good thing I jumped out and warned you man lol.

Over-all i was a little worried taking out you 2 newbies and even though you guys chicken'd out running 16 you guys are alright. I don't care what everyone else is saying about you guys ;)

Next year though boys you are going to have to run 16 with me rain or shine. I promise to get you guys off the trail in one piece if anything was to happen! lol.

Really in all seriousness you guys did an awesome job for your first major THCI Event. I am really glad you guys made it, great trips that lead to great posts like this will continue to grow the club and the love of the sport. Now does anyone wanna pre-run Kinzalows in the early spring late winter with Dustin, Steve and I????? Anyone???? Bueller?????

About an hour or so. the hi-lift slipped twice which didnt help at all

ROUSHDEMON
10-26-2009, 07:12 AM
yes it took under an hour and just to correct that... the jack didn't "slip", since it was muddy the whole truck slid sideways twice while jacked making it more difficult but good thing someone else had a regular floor jack... that worked! and GOOOOOD THIIIING we put the tire under the truck right after we took it off.
but that was the least of our worries tho, everybody learned a little and it was a lot of fun either way.

I bet u lost a tie rod cause u didn't get an alignment after installing that big azz brushguard! :jump:

Seriously, it looks good! (though roof rack still too flimsy in comparison).

On the camo H2 on 42" Iroks -- I WANT ONE!!

10-26-2009, 02:07 PM
Yeah those 42's on Rusty's truck look great. But when you get tires that big you are really running the risk of breaking axles. the H2 has a great rear axle but 42's might be pushing the limits of that axle. I will be sure to keep you guys posted if Rusty breaks one lol.
