Well i had no idea our outside mirros were power folding so i folded them in by hand. Now they do little to nothing when i hit the power fold feature. the driver's side mirror points down and i hear a little bit of motor movement but still nothing happens. Are the mirrors for sure broken? Is there something i can do to reset them?

Not sure if this will work for you or not but the way to reset them is to fold and unfold them using the mirror control at least three times. That is what the manual says to do when the mirror is accidently manually folded. Let us know! They are not cheap mirrors. About $500-$600 depending on the side

went out there again...

when i hit the button both mirror glass tilts down...a hear a small motor noise but the full mirror does not move. When i hit the outside button there is a small delay and then the mirrors move back into position. I guess both movement motors must be blown? I looked for a fuse and could not find one.

Hi check the fuse first then check the voltage at the mirror plug. You maybe able to check the voltage by removing the mirror glass to get at the wires. You would have to remove the door panel to check voltage if you can't check it behind the mirror. Their is 3 motors in there, one for up down, two for side to side mirror movement and the last is for folding the mirrors in and out. The motors can seize up which they would have to come apart to fix or maybe be junk. As far as i know you can't buy mirror parts, just the whole mirror. Hope this helps

Looks like the mirrors are the originals that came on my truck a used 2003 H2. Doesn't look like there is a fuse for the mirror movement? Looks like I may just end up living with no folding mirrors. They hold their place well that's all that matters at this point.

I am told the mirrors on 2003 and 04 were known for problems.

Thanks for the post Dave, I was going to "break" the news to pohlease if I found out the it was within the problem years and post the links also but "bedtime" came before I found out the year. ;) :beerchug:

pohlease, mine broke again and I just don't worry about it anymore. Chances are they will start vibrating also, I had a fix for that too but the mirrors are determined to be junk  It was a bad design and the newer ones are much better and you can chang out to them out (dealerships were if the truck was under warrenty) but I have also heard some years need the wiring changed a bit (just a heads up if ya get a set of new ones, ya might want to be sure thay will fit). There was a post about that here somewhere, sorry I don't have a link for it though.

Good luck, Ed
