View Full Version : Calibrating Air Suspension....

I need to re-calibrate my rear air suspension. I have a tech II scan tool but all the instructions say I need Suspension Position Calibration Blocks, CH-47816. Anyone know where I can get these blocks or another way to calibrate without them?
My rear end sits too high for the trailer I pull, I already have a 6" drop ball mount, and it's still too high.
Maybe just lower the H2 with some jack stands under it.....or maybe create something with the correct height under the trailer hitch ball?

There have been some others looking for that info and never got a answer that I am aware of, sorry.

Yea, I saw that picture during my research. Surely someone here has done the calibration before. I thought there were some Hummer Techs that were members here.

HUMTECH is one but he has not answered the question on the part info in any of his post on the rear suspension, could be that he would get in trouble ?

I can get the part number for ya tomorrow, problem is you need a tech 2 scan tool as well to do the calibration procedure

HUMTECH, He does have the Tech II and knows the part number for the Blocks, CH-47816 but what he really needs is the the OAL height of those parts, Maybe, even where it would be possible to buy them.
Sorry agood1 to be speaking for you but I seen that HUMTECH posted recently and thought I'd try to let him know for ya.

Wait wait wait.......
I too have a 6" drop hitch on my truck. And its not enough for my boat trailer. I would not go recalibrating your rear suspension to sit lower than the factory setting. Is that what you are trying to do???
Or did you replace a ride height sensor in your rear suspension and its now sitting too high?

Just use a jack or something to put the suspension at the ride height you want and hit the button on the techII. The ride height sensors do need to be around 2.5V though.

Thank you very much for your time and effort HUMTECH, much appreciated. I will be writing that in my service manual for the future questions here and hopefully has answered agood1's question and they can fix their problem in the first post.
There ya have it folks 5 3/16" OAL from the man himself :beerchug:

Thanks for all that have posted on my question. Sorry I did not get back to read this sooner.
I have a couple more questions.
1. If the tool is 5 3/16, where would I take that measurment if I don't have the tool....or if I make a homemade tool.
2. Can I just put a the truck on my lift and lower it down to the desired height and let it recalibrate from there? Or maybe even use a floor jack under the trailer hitch?

Measure from the metal flange at the top of the bumpstop to where the bumpstop contacts the diff housing. Yes you can just set it at this height by lifting on the bumper hitch and calibrate from there

Done,
I used the voltage readings on the height sensors to get it where I wanted it....maybe a little below stock, but it should work.
My readings before were 2.87 and 2.94
Now they are 2.18 and 2.22. And you can actually tell a difference when you hit the ride height adjustment button....and the voltages go to 3.04 and 3.06
