hey so I installed my own in dash pioneer avic-z2, and a backup cam xm radio with nav traffic and ipod dock, and this thing is killing my battery after 2 days. so it has a hot and an accessory lead, can I put an inline switch on one of those? i just dont want to lose my settings everytime i turn on the car.

or does anyone know what i should look for to resolve the problem? how can I even test which one is the culprit?

Verify that you have everything wired correctly and if thats OK check your battery and make certain that its good...
There was a good install study done by F5 a few years ago search it up and see if that matches what you did with your AVIC his was a D2 but they are basically the same head unit. If that all checks...
If you have a meter check and see if you have a short or read if your metalic parts of your truck are energized. Or your unit may have a parasitic ground of some kind. Go here for more info...http://avic411.com/forum/index.php?sid=8846f9e699a4a0d3543b9a243cf9fc82

Good luck

If you have a stock battery maybe stop by advance auto let them do a free check. They will try to sell you a new one if its bad but you know the drill...
Good Luck!

I figured it out, the accessory lead for the back up cam was tied in with the hots for some reason. this was pulling .3333 amps all the time. I removed it and it dropped to .0900 amps.

America **** yeah!
