so looking to add a sub box under the back seat.
i have both a 10 inch kicker sub and a nice 12 pioneer shallow mount sub.
i know i can get a box for the 10... i wouldnt waste anyones time with that.
what i am finding is that there are no 12 in sub boxes out there...
well not that i can find.
i have seen the JBL stealth boxs, but honestly at $800, i would laugh at anyone who paid that...
anyways... who is running a 12 inch sub box under teh back seats?

Can you still fold the top of your seat all the way down with that set up?

good point...
i doubt he will be able to. as it is now, atleast with my 03', when you fold the seats up in the back, the backrests kinda scrap the bottom part the folds up.
i also have my front seats kind pushed back some.. so maybe if they were moved forward, that might make some extra room, but i dont think it would be enough for the backrests to clear that setup.
its too bad... i was thinking of this type of setup too. i want to go with 2 Solo Baric 12 inch subs. maybe if i mount them deeper inside the seats with basically this same setup? that might be enough for the seats to clear when folding them?
worst case, i buy a pre-fab 10 inch sub box that holds only 1x 10 inch sub and be done with it. they are pretty cheap on ebay for only about 80 bucks.
i just have this 250 rms x 4 4000 watt amp i want to use....
going to replace the sub in the console, and all door and pillar speakers too.

going to replace the sub in the console,
Where is this said sub?? I have had my console out many times while working on my truck. I have the BOSE system as well. I have never heard of a sub in the console.

there is suppose to be a 8 inch sub located in the center console.....
i had my after market deck put in, so i personally cant verify that it is there... but it is suppose to be.

nope I can not fold the seat down. But I was never going to anyway honestly. I dont have carry anything that big. And if so I will just fold down the other seat on the opposite side. I may research that jl. I got the lo pro kickers.

Just an Idea for you. This is a square 15 in the exact area where the inside spare would mount. 3 amps mounted into the lower platform, 3.2 cuft of sealed air space, plus a spare battery mounted in the front area right behind the rear seats. May not be what your looking for, but I love it.

i like the box setups you guys have, but they just take up too much space in the back.
i think im going more for something out of sight, like under the rear seats.
while i dont live in a area thats bad, some times i have to leave my baby parked outside on the street for a weekend or something.. so dont need the extra attention, motivation to break into it.
also, not looking for competition type setup or the stero typical white boy bumping rap music.. wrong H2 for that.. im going for the blacked out look.. no 28 rims, and bling bling here...just looking to add some good bass for rock type music...Seether, Nickleback, Buckcheery, Linkin park, and whatever i like. if it has bass in the music, i want to hear it as it should be.. and maybe feel it

I am selling (2) JL Audio 13TW5 that are 2 days old. I installed them in one of my cars and then decided I didn't want a stereo in it. They will work perfectly under the rear seat of an H2 and will definitely hit hard. These are the best shallow woofers on the market and the price reflects that ! I think retail is $630. each and I will sell them both for $900. If anyone is interested let me know. (214)405-0024

Well mine is not the typical 28" rim setup either FAR FROM IT but I still like to hear good bass with all my music while im hitting the bog. Having a cool system setup doesn't mean you listen to rap!! My custom box still leaves me enoug room in the back for some gear all while still enjoying some nice bass. And since its lifted you can't really see it from the outside. You just have to get the right subs and enclosure to match. You don't want to loose space than install a set of those thin JL Audios in the back lift gate. With proper sealing of the rear hatch you should be able to get a nice sound and save space.

thats actually a good idea...... some shallow mounts on the back door.... hmmm.. going to have to look into that. just wonder if there is anything inside that would hamper the instal?
off subject.. i think that back window is one of the useless things on the H@.. i wish they made that window usable. either a flip up or a roll down.

Take a real close look at the pic where the amps are visable and you will see a custom made solid steel bracket coming off the rear factory tire mount bolt. I custom made this from 1/4" steel plate, 24 inches long, 1/2 " diameter bolts x 4 bolting it through the platform and into the MDF. Another similar plate from the front side factory spare tire mount into the box, and two huge L brackets from the floor up the sides of the platform. Inside the MDF box there is a complete frame made of 2 x 4's, around the top and bottom and front to back braces, which the platform is also bolted too with 3/8" bolts. This is as secure as the factory inside spare, I've done some very aggressive offroad driving and the box doesnt even squeak. Amps are mounted on special vibration pads 4 per amp to protect them, and of course an Optima mounted on its side in front, again a custom bracket I made that bolts the battery into the front battery enclosure. I started building stereo stuff and lowered cars back in the late 90's so I've already made the poor mounting mistakes and this isn't one of them. 50 - 60 hours in just the back of the truck, doesn't look all cool like fiberglass but I lost less than 1 cuft of storage space compared to the spare mounted inside. Like I said I like it.... :-)

I'm more of a metal head than a bass boy, Only 1 amp is for the sub, US AMPS 1500W RMS, DB Drive components in the 4 doors, Front doors powered by an old(freshly rebuilt) Orion 250W amp, Rear doors powered by the third 200W amp. Keeps up nice with the sub and handles all types of music at 140ish DB
Just so ya know.

I have the JL shallow 13" subs under the seat of my '05 SUT. The company that did them custom molded the floor in order to make the box. Wasn't cheap, but sounds fantastic! It's also removable, heavy, but removable. Amps are mounted on the backs of the seats. Everything folds as necessary, and the trim on the seats covers the amps when folded flat so I can still put stuff on them. But that isn't a big issue for me as I rarely need to fold them.

The truck is at the shop right now, but I'll get some up as soon as I get it back. You have to pull the box out to fold the seats, but I never have to do that, so no worries.
