I have to do a brake job with all rotors and pads on my rig... Question is, would you save $$$ to get the stuff at Autozone? Or, spend another 150.00 more from a Hummer Dealership using AC Delco stuff????

Hi i can tell the rotors from ac delco are most times better quailty than aftermarket ones but it up to you.

You can get really nice EBC rotors and pads for under $700 easily. Expect to pay roughly $800 for your oem stuff and labor at a dealership. Assuming you have the right tools pads and rotors should take you about 2-2.5 hours start to finish, its pretty easy to do. (Just did my rear breaks yesterday, first time ever doing a brake job, took about 1.5 hours from the time I drove into the shop till when I backed out.)

Thanks everyone!! I changed them with a friend today and found out that 2 of my studs were crossdrilled!! So, I had to change 2 studs.. Ughhhh..

Ill have to post a pic of the pads.. I definitely used my pads to its fullest potential! lol No pads at all... :jump:

Unless you're going to upgrade pads (hawks, carbotech, etc, etc) stick with GM pads.

GM pads last a long time and are a very happy medium between being too soft that they leave too much dust and too hard making them squeel.

Besides, I think the last time I bought a set of GM pads, they were only in the 30-40 dollar range. (may be more now...)

I am planning to do brakes in a few weeks. I have decided to use the power slot cryo rotors, Hawk pads, one of these two; super duty or EHS pads. I do have the brake line kit from Trail duty which I am hoping will firm up the brake pedal.

My 2 cents is if it works fine, why upgrade???? I have had vehicles in the past where the stock rotors were not beefy enough and warped, when it was brake time, I upgraded. Same with the pads. Too soft/too hard, time to upgrade. With the very long life of the brakes on this truck and so far no issues at all with my stock set up, when it is time to replace this will be all OEM parts for me with no hesitation.
