With over 139,000 miles I thought it was time to do some preventive mantainence and upgrading at the same time. With help from Tim at ExpeditionHardware.com the Duece is done for now..
Around September of last lear I upgraded the Idler and Pitman arms to the Moog parts because the were shot with alot of miles on them. At the time the gameplan was to do all the stock parts one at a time to get any parts with 139,000 miles off the H2 but not hurt the wallet all in one shot. That plan went to ****, and I just did it all and couldn't be happier, the H2 drives like new.
I replaced the everything on both sides so if anyone needs trail spares let me know. I replaced both hubs, cv shafts, upper control arms, lower ball joints, upgraded to rareparts tierods, put centercaps on the rims and added a 3rd shock (Rancho 9000xl adjustable) in the stock location to take the bounce out caused by the dual Rancho 5000s, oh and got a alignment. I am sure I am missing stuff but you get the idea.
I can't believe that the ball joints, hubs and tierods lasted 139,000 miles and were still in good shape, especially considering I have the lift and 37x13.50x22 rims and tires..

Well here is some pics.

if you dont mind posting, what did the whole setup run you about?

im in the process of doing almost the same thing as you, but i only have 83k miles.

im only swapping tierods, hubs, brake pads and shocks and a new tranny pan and filter.

think overall for all above i have spent about $500 without the shocks.. going to go the the Rancho adj ones.

i would like to do both upper and lower C. arms, but thats another $1k. soooo ya

The rareparts tierods are about $360-$380 and the Rancho 9000Xl are adjustable and ride so nice. You should give Tim at Expedition hardware a call (303) 766-3239 and see what he can work out with you he has some killer deals...http://www.expeditionhardware.com/
As far as hubs and upper control arms and balljoints and cv shafts I bought ACDelcos on Rockauto they got pretty good prices. actually the cv shafts and lower balljoints werent AC delco but whatever.

With parts, labor, oil change and alignment I think I spent $1800-$2000 but i had a few misc. things done also like rear trailing arms and bushings on my aft braces for my lift, plus they had to drill through my new UCA for the dual shock mounts, but if you are doing tierods you need the alignment and to do the alignment they need to loosen the upper control arm anyway. If it is going to be apart I would suggest doing all at once. You can get a set of lower ball joints from rock or ebay for about $50 and UCA for about $100 each. So about $250-$300 in extra parts and probally the same for labor depending on the shop.
