"You caused the Gulf oil spill!!!"

Huh? Now drive, not walk or bicycle back to work...

Second favorite,

"You take up two parking spots."

Uh no, I fit (barely) in my parking spot, but your extra long pickup does not.

Feeling the love...

Very nice! I have not yet had any negative comments. I have had one guy ask if I owned the Hummer, and said it was really nice.

I do notice people look at us a lot more than in any other rig, and you can see the sneers on some of their faces. But so far no bad comments. I'm just waiting!!!

Mine is, "My car gets 40 MPG, what's yours get? My eyes are telling me very little"

I say 12MPG, but its like driving Demarcus Ware around town. Your car tells my eyes that you like it in the rear.

I had a guy in a little Ford Fusion yell at me coming out of McD's with my duaghter saying "DRIVE SOMETHING THAT DOESN"T KILL THE EARTH". That was when I had my 2006 Black H3 with 24's and all chromed out about 4 months ago.

I can't wait to see that same guy in my new 2006 H2 SUT I picked up 2 months ago all decked out!

best was when i had some women in a suburban come up to me at a gas station while we were both filing up gas she yelled at me about my car '(H3) i pulled out the sticker and showed her the estimated fuel economy. I asked her to do the same about her car she walked to her car opened the glove and never came back or looked at me again

98% of the remarks about my Hummers have been VERY positive. The more rural you get, the more positive. My favorite was while I was in St. Louis at a Cardinals game and getting in afterwards a young yuppy couple parked next to me in a Prius made the remark that "don't you feel guilty using all that gas?" I looked them right in the eye and told them the people with homes that I saved in the sandbagging during the great Mississippi flood of 2008, driving through 30 inches of water to get sandbags and pumps to their homes were "very glad I had a Hummer and not a Prius." I have found some people change their negative opinions of Hummers after one ride in one.

No matter what people say......to drive a Hummer is an undescribable feeling. It just makes you want to go where no one has gone before. I love driving my 2006 H2 SUT. No matter what the mpg is or the price of a gallon goes to.

My son and I were at Mcdonalds when two elderly ladies in about there eightys were both staring at my sut. One of them turned to us and said," we were just admiring your truck boy is that sharp!" as only someone from that generation could have put it. Makes you proud to drive such a great truck.
Those who want to try and force there beliefs on others are best ignored.

For some reason that is unknown to me there are an inordinate number of H2's and H3's in Vegas. The Republican comment I mentioned above was from a family member. I have never received a negative comment or gesture on the street.

A H2 is one of the safest vehicles to carry your family in. I read somewhere it is #2 behind a Ford F350 dually when studying death rates. The $300-$400 more I pay in gas each year compared to my previous ride that gets 19 mpg is a pittance for the additional safety and peace of mind.

I have had my '06 H2 since I bought it new and I would estimate the ratio of negative comments to "I love your Hummer", about 1:500. About two years ago I placed "Hybrid" badges from a Toyota Highlander under the H2 on the doors (it's the same font as the "H2") and the reactions have been priceless.
I don't know how many people have stopped me and commented that they didn't know Hummer made a hybrid. The next question of course is what kind of mileage do I get? "Twenty-six on the highway and about 19 around town" is my standard reply. They don't know what to say at that point, usually it's a shaking of their head followed by a "I had know idea." The best reactions are from the Prius/hybrid drivers...it destroys their entire paradigm.

Even cruising on the freeway, you can see the passengers in cars looking at the badge and mouthing to the driver, "I didn't know they had Hummer hybrids......"

The badges were about $12 each from a Toyota dealer but the pleasure they have given me truly has been priceless.

My brother in law and I were picking up dinner for our wives on the way back from the range the other night. We stopped for gas when someone came up and said "Wow. What kind of gas mileage you getting with that thing?" My brother in law without skipping a beat says "35mpg".

Took the guy a good bit to figure out we were f-ing with him. :dancingbanana:

I think most people are more caught off guard by the fact that someone is openly ****ing with them rather than answering their stupid questions. I mean, why do they really care what MPG my truck gets? Its MY truck and MY gas bill! :giggling:

I had the same thing happen to me the last time I was at the pumps but the guy asking was driving a beat up 80's suburban! I responded with "Better than that thing!"
