Has anyone installed an Amatuer radio in a H2 yet? If so any photos?

I have been looking at this too. I saw some pics online. Most people just replaced the OnStar system. It is easier to hook up that way since you use the wires already there.

Does anyone know where a good place is to run power though the firewall and also where to route the antenna coax?

There's a large rubber grommet up under the dash...I can't remember what OEM part goes through it, but that's what I used to run several things through the firewall. I'll take a picture of it in a bit and post it.

It's hard to miss...if I recall...it's up under the dash almost directly inline with the parking brake...it comes out in the engine compartment below and behind the fuse box.

Get and ice pick and some duct tape...tape your wires to the ice pick and poke it through.

Works like a charm.

Assuming that your talking about a CB...here's what I did:

Removed the OnStar unit and mounted the control unit for a Cobra 75 WX in the dash (hidden)
Mounted the handset for the Cobra 75 WX on the side of the console

Used a piece of angle iron to construct an antenna bracket on the rear tire carrier

Replaced the FM antenna vent with a 2003 vent (no antenna mount)

Routed the FM and CB attenna cable to the rear of the truck (using one of the FireStiks for FM) and exited throught the power grommet used for the license plate light
Mounted two FireStik antennas on the angle iron
Routed power (for CB and other peripherals) throught the large grommet in the firewall directly behind the parking brake

Hope this helps.

Uh...the grommet was in the last picture I posted.

Disregard the four white wires and the one red wire...you won't see those in your truck. It's almost directly behind the parking brake. I'll see if I can find and exploded diagram in the EPC and post that too.

This is a nice install in the dash where the onstar used to be.
