Any of you running an engine programmer on an '08+ 6.2 liter engine?

If so, what brand?

I like the Predator on my '05 Chevy 2500HD 6.0 liter, but as I underatnd the Predator for the 6.2 engine, the only options are 87 octane tune OR 93 octane tune. The 6.2 is designed to run on 91+, but can run on 87 octane in a pinch. My concern is if I used the Predator to reprogram thne 6.2 engine to the 93 octane tune and was unable to find 93 octane, it might cause problems since the engine timing advance parameters will be tweaked so far.

One thing I dislike about the Predator on my Chevy is it resets the engine hour meter to zero whenever the tune is set or altered. Maybe that is common to all tuners.

Hi i have a superchip cortex and i diablosport predator for my 2008 and i don't think neither reset the hour meter in my truck. I use the daiblosport because the transmission shifts better. The superchips unit is alittle more user friendly and easier to update. The diablosport you have to by the usb cable and a power supply which you should already have from your old unit. I recall the cortex has more tunes already install than the diablosport.

My U7194 Predator for my Chevy is an older version that does not support the 6.2 engines, has no USB cable interface, and is not internet updateable.

I have not fine tuned the Chevy, just went with a canned intermediate tune, turned Torque Management off (I think DiabloSport no longer recommends turning TM completely off), tried to correct speedometer, but it's still off ~7% (low) even though I entered correct new tire sizes.

Anyway, which tune/options did you apply to your '08 H2 with the Predator? I am not sure you can manipulate TM with the newer vehicles. Thanks.

Hi use the 87 octane for the same reason, most gas stations around me only have 87,89,91 octane. I have 34.5 inch tall tires and i compaired it with my gramin gps and its very very close at 60 mph on the speedo the gramin says 59 mph. Did you enter the tire size or measure the tire and enter the size in inches? My U7194 must be a newer unit it has a 6.2 in it and it updates on the internet. My tm is on and the tire size is changed and all limits are off. I think thats all i did. I bought it mostly to change tire sizes. The cable that it uses is a serial port on the bottom of the predator unit and the other end that goes to your pc and its usb. Are you sure that yours is not updateable here is the list of the u7194 if your is not updateable that sucks.

U7194 Predator Applications are listed in the next post

Hi if you are thinking of getting better mpg i wouldn't by a programmer. If mine gives better milage its like .5 or maybe 1 mpg better. I bought mine because of my tires size, it does work and shift better with it programmed.
