Vern,
Glad to hear your Hummer is doing so well! I've only been in the shop once and that was for a broken windshield and fixed a 4 wheel drive low range button that had gone bad - that's it. Just turned 41,000 on my '06 and love it just as much as when it was new. Hope you are enjoying retirememnt!

My car has been in the shop a few times for very minor stuff ( key ignition, bearing due to the huge tires which was my fault) but besides that it has been the most reliable car I have ever owned!

06 H2 with 35K. Had an issue with a courtesy light staying on..fixed that with a software flash. Rear tire carrier rusting through on the bottom, replaced the entire unit under warrenty. So far, thats it. Knock on wood!!Oh, almost forgot, I got the infamous marker light leak with a giant puddle on my driver floor board. ;)

To many times to count. I have had about $30K in warranty work done on my 06. 99% of it is because I am VERY pickey. Had all 5 rims replaced due to some pitting, all of the exterior chrome and weatherstrips replaced. Most of the cooling lines for some minor weapage, NAV unit for some discoloration in the screen, steering wheel, ball joints due to grease seals failing, both mirrors replaced as was "jittery" when moving the mirrors, transfer case seal for minor weapage, etc, etc, etc... Not to mention I replaced all of the leather with new OEM covers myself...

Next week putting in the shop for a new a/c compressor as getting some oil leak around the seal and maybe a new brake booster for same reason.

Last time I had it in a GM store as Hummer is no longer and the service writer could not believe my service history. I am under my truck just peeking around at least once a week. GM made NO money on my extended warranty I bought....

i too have an 06 H2 SUV with 17k miles that i also bought before i retired from US Army on January 2007. i did oil change myself every 7.5k miles or whenever oil life is under 20%. i don't bring any of my vehicles to any shop unless i have to. i love this HUMMER coz it is my remembrance when i deployed in Iraq on 2005.
