I hope some of you have a point of attack on this! I have a 2003 H2 with 85000 miles on it. The problem is: when I first try to start it, it will only crank for about 3-5 Seconds before it starts. If I turn the key on & off 3 times without cranking it, it will start right away on the 3 turn & crank. I don't see any signs of a leak under the hood. Another weird thing it does, is if I park it nose first in my drive way that is on a Incline it will start on the first crank, but if I park it level then I have to turn the key on & off 3 times, while waiting for the orange fuel light to go off each time before it will start right up. This has happen ever since I bought it USED for a good price. No codes or anything come on, just bought a new fuel cap, & still the same thing. Don't have the cash to take it to a dealer, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

How is it once its running, seem down on power at all? It sounds like it could be something as simple as a new fuel filter, if you have 85K and its never been replaced it could be what your problem is.

sounds like the fuel pressure regulator is allowing the fuel prime to bleed off slowly which would be why you need to prime the system 3 times for it to start after sitting. also could be a leaky injector. Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and pressure system up with a few key cycles then watch the pressure, if it drops slowly pinch off the fuel return line. if it continues to drop, injector is leaking, if it stops dropping regulator is leaking
