Hope someone can shed some light on my problem. I had a little accident and needed to have the drivers front fender repaired and turn signal replaced. The shop used the paint code found in the glove box but the fender is a different color than the rest of the truck. Not just a little off but a lot! The new yellow looks completely different. The shop keeps ordering paint using the same code and keep getting the same but wrong paint. Is there another place on the vehicle for another paint decal? Are there different yellows of '03 H2's? The shop is at a loss and I'm losing my faith in them but they are the only body shop for 150 miles. Any help would be appreciated.
PS: the accident was while hunting...and i got skunked there too...not a good day

Most shops can computer match the color.

The reason it doesnt match is because you need to compensate for the 8 years its been out in the sun and faded, so taking the exact color code is going to look how it did when the truck was new which isnt going to match compared to the 8 year old paint around it Im sure, i have to believe any shop would know this as the computers have a formula to compensate for life of vehicle to get a good match. Anyway, good luck thats a bummer and reallly freakin' annoying im sure.

OrangeCrush (Mark) on here owns/operates a body shop and should be able to give you a answer about matching colors. If he doesn't see your post maybe PM him.

I did consider that possibility but I have never known paint to get darker with age. The new paint is many shades lighter than the original....but just maybe in 8 years it will catch up to the color I have now? But then again, my truck will probably be orange by that time....LOL.Thanks for the input.
