Thanks, wish Rancho made a hard boot for those front shocks in black. They only have the soft ones, for the rear.

Take them off. There are a lot of people who believe that the boots do as much harm as good because they can trap moisture, which leads to rust. And, if you do get any dirt in there, it's more likely to scratch the shaft, which can ruin the seals inside.

Yea, I was considering that, but the piston shafts being shiny might be more obtrusive.

And I thought I was anal....:p
What about trying to find dark blue ones?
And btw, if you haven't done so yet, yank the roof marker light bulbs out. I took mine out a couple of years ago because I couldn't stand the way they looked.

Or switch to Bilstein shocks that come with black boots, and paint the shocks.

Yes... but I wanna replace the actual shocks to black shocks, if I can find something good...either that or paint them all black... with black boots...HA!... i dunno yet. right now they're just the only thing sticking out like a sore thomb white shocks with red boots.

FYI, I've heard that when painting shocks, you need to be really careful about what kind of paint you use. If you use something too thick, the oil can heat up more than previously, and you lose damping.

I know they make plastic dye that people use on vinyl tops and interior pieces, I was wondering if I could use it on the plastic front boots, and just have the shocks painted. Either that or switch to Bilsteins that come with black boots.
