View Full Version : Bumperette DIY mod :)
Had a bit of time to do a little diy mod to the bumperettes. If you remember the H2 concept, the bumperettes had an opening, which GM decided to close up on the production model.
So I simply cut the plastic center section out of the bumperettes. Looks more rugged now imo, and you can see the tires better. :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: I just love freebies :D

I like it. You could call it a performance mod! It reduces wind resistance and improves MPGs!
Looks good.

Nice mod!!! Kind of reminds me of the Hx concept Hummer from the front. I broke off one of my bumperettes in the brush three years ago and looked for a metal version and just ended up taking them off for a year before replacing them.

Agreed...I just found a project for this weekend!
EDIT: Ooooo...maybe not, I just remembered that mine are encapsulated in Line-X. That would give them an edge where they could peel! ARG! Oh well, it does look slick...good job.

I personally prefer to keep them off, but all the mods look good.

I rolled with mine off for a while...but just couldn't get used to the look.

What does it look like from the back side? With the wide open view of the bumper from the back side, does it look "butchered" from that angle or were you able to keep a factory look as well?
You can't even tell that it has been cut out...looks like a factory option...just make sure you cut straight and smooth the edges. Cheers:beerchug:
