Has anyone added the home link system on the driver's visor yet? Or know where to get one, aftermarket? We didn't know it was offered. Our salesman slacked on a couple of details. Anyway, I'd really like to add it to our H3.I don't like the garage door opener clamped on the visor. So, any help would be appreciated.

I seen this thing on ebay awhile back, you hook it up to truck(or car mc)and when you hit your highbeams the garage opens.

I just use a tiny keychain remote. The stupid Homelink never worked. I even had the sales guy come over and try. I have a system that constantly rotates the codes ( high security http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif )

I saw that deal on ebay too, now I can't remember who made it...was it X10?

I added it to mine. I purchased through parts at the dealer and the salesman had it put on for me for free. I thought there would be a connector up there already and fished around for it, but couldn't find it. I saw a bunch of wire housing on the floor when I got it back, so I think they spliced into a power and ground that was in the roof.

Thanks for all the info. Much appreciated. I just cant stand that brown remote stuck on the visor. It just sticks out like a sore thumb.

LMAO! did you push that little button inside your garage door motor? We had the same issue and than finally got it to work.

Does anyone have the GM part number for the Home Link. Thanks

I also added the Homelink visor. I got it from the dealer and had them install it. The owner's manual explains how to set it up with a rolling code garage door opener. I will try to find the box for it and post the part number.

Hey thanks Buzz. I had the homelink system in my Ford F150 before and realy liked it. I just cant stand that big brown box on the visor. I also looked into some of the other suggestions given in this thread. Thanks everyone.

The part number I have is: 15296726

I got it through Adventure Accessories (which is the parts department for Lynch Hummer. Their number is 888-600-4268 if you want to get it through them.

Thanks Buzz, I will give them a call tomorrow. Was it difficult to install? i.e. wiring, etc.

I was wondering if anyone had the link to the site that showed various hummer installation tips on it. I saw it before and it had the Homelink installation on it. Fixing to install mine and I am looking for some tips.

I'm interested as well. Can you install the homelink visor into a non-lux rig? (i.e. is the needed wiring in the roof?)

I'm learning that this is becoming a 'must-have' for my wife. I stuck her garage remote in the glove box and I'm beginning to hear the complaints. Gotta make her happy - happiness at home is based on the mood of the woman.

I actually had the dealer install it since they do not have the wiring there from the factory. It can be installed in any H3. I'm sure it would not be too tough, since it is just power and ground. I just didn't feel like messing with it right now.
It's strange though since the luxury package used to come with the homelink visor. You would think they would put the wiring there. Plus, the visor wires have a plug on the end.

Anyway, hope that helps.

Those that bought the part themselves - how much?
Thanks!

Does anyone have the part number for the lighter color homelink visor? The 15296726 is for the darker one. Thanks

The Part No. I got is 15272022. I have the Slate BLue H3 Adventure package. I contacted GM Parts Direct (http://www.gmpartsdirect.com) and gave them my VIN# and they confirmed that this was the correct part no. for my vehicle.

Rajin Cajun, are your interior trim pieces a light brown or are they a light grayish beige? I can't believe they would have two colors so close but yet so different. Do you know the correct GM colors for the interior trim pieces and the carpet? I'm also trying to match the carpet for my stereo install. It's lighter than black but darker than graphite. Thanks

The Interior Color is listed as Ebony on the vehicle invoice but it's more of a charcoal color and the headliner is a light gray. Here is a pic of it. I'm really not sure of the correct GM color designations other than what was on the invoice. Hope it helps.

Thanks Timgco!
I was always told homelink won’t work with rolling codes after reading your post I got out my manual and it worked the first try. This site has been so helpful.
