Hey guys. I was looking for a hummer and came across an 05 with 77k miles but it's been in an accident according to the carfax.
What are your thoughts on this? This is what the carfax said
Accident reported
Involving front impact
It hit another motor vehicle
Right front primarily damaged
Vehicle towed
It's going for 22k and the accident was with the first of two owners

Accidents happen! Assume you owned the truck with 22k miles and had an accident that damaged the right front. What would you do? Get it fixed! And now you still own the truck with 77k miles on it and are a happy owner. Overall condition of the truck and price are more important then the fact that it had a banged up right front at some time. If you had not read the Car Fax report you would not have known!

Have it checked out by a mechanic and a front end shop for damages
If it is ok buy then and enjoy

You cant find a vehicle thats got 50,000 without an accident of some sort. Maybe not a car to car accident, but bumping into things, tree's, etc.
Some people i know see a vehicle has had a crash and like forget it. What a mistake.
Like was said, be sure to get it looked over good. If all repairs were done well then its all good to go -))

Find another one with a clean CarFax/AutoCheck .... unless the price seriously reflects a discount, it will hurt you during re-sale or trade-in. Even if it has a clean CarFax/AutoCheck, paint work also affects re-sale and trade-in. If the work is virtually perfect, it may can be overlooked, but again, it should be reflected in the price. Previously repaired vehicle values go from "good"/"average" to "fair"/"rough" depending on the seriousness or repair quality. A repaired vehicle will never be considered "good"/"average" and "excellent"/"clean" values are generally reserved only for the car the dealer is selling.

I have an old friend that has been in the car/body repair business for 40+ years.
The one thing that has always stuck in my mind that he said was NEVER buy a vehicle that has been in a front end accident, they can never be made right.
Now, I don't know if that applies to Hummers and tanks, but I take it as face value.
The third Hummer I now own has been in two accidents but runs like a jewel.

If it concerns you, you can contact the police where CarFax said the accident occured and get a full copy of the police accident report for about $50. These reports sometimes include photgraphs. Carfax also has another entry for frame damage reported, and if that's clean it probably was just a minor fender bender.
