I almost bought one of those trucks a few years ago--but I himmed & hawed and when I went back it was sold of course.
Those GMC trucks are beautiful.
I never thought about the implications of this set-up until you posted this---as in "is it possible to stuff that axle in a deuce?"
I just read somewhere else today that the axles are no long made, so I don't know how hard it would be to find a wrecked truck and attempt a swap. Or what parts availability or relibility look like, but man, it would have been awesome in a deuce!

Yikes! I wouldn't want to tackle that conversion job; but with our short wheelbase we'd have an EXCELLENT turning radius...LOL!
