I am trying to wire up my Clarion NX700 head unit so that the Navigation will automatically go to the night setting when the headlights come on. Any idea where i can find that wire? Prefferably inside the cab.
Thanks for any input.

You will need a class 2 interface module as the bcm controls the auto headlight function over the data line

Wow, that went straight over my head. Any more insight into this?

BCM = Body Controll Module . Got it.
I can not find the "class 2 interface module". I have looked for PAC items and do not see such an item.

Maybe my memory is shot...but when I installed my AVIC years ago, I'm almost positive that I was able to tap into a wire on the headlight switch to get a 12v signal indicating that the headlights were on (I don't remember which one...seems like it was 'green'). I'm pretty sure I linked that up to the 'Illumination' line on the head unit and everything worked as you describe.

Tapping into circuit 2353 before the cluster should work

You would have to keep your dimmer control all the way up though to do it this way so the radio see's the full 12vdc as that circuit is behind the dimmer control.

Depends on whether you tap before or after the potentiometer...I'd think.

Yup I see the problem with that circuit now. This is the one you want, circuit 1970 at the bcm connector c2 pin a4
