I have considered an aftermarket turbocharger for my 2003 H2 with the hope of getting better gas milage.
It seems there is no such thing for the 2003 H2. Does anyone know better?

Aftermarket as in buying off the shelf kit, no. But there are a number of manufacturers that have built systems. STS was toying around w/ making a rear mount turbo kit, I never saw if anything materialized on it.
There is a lingenfelter H2 twin turbo kit for sale on craigslist right now that was removed from a truck. It was pretty cheap, I'm assuming the turbos needed a rebuild, it didn't like much details other than a few pics. It was around $1200.
Putting it on w/ the expectation of a dramatic difference in economy is going to be a disappointment. Yea, you'll get some additional power and your effeciency should go up, but its not going to pay for itself.
If you can do the work yourself, I believe its easier to justify a duramax conversion.
There has been a few people over the year that converted over to 2 wheel drive, but I never saw any significate savings as they were still turning all the front end drive train. Never saw one that had unlockable hubs.
It takes alot of power to move an 8000 pound all wheel drive box down the road.
Alot of good info at performancetrucks.net. I'd hunt around over there, alot of activity. ls1tech.com is a sister site, all these motors are pretty damn close to each other.

...and if you get it turbo-ed you might as well start planning on beefing your tranny up or swapping up to a 4L80.

Reserving money for a 4L80 would be cheaper in the long run. Beefing up the stock tranny is just a bandaid, wont last.

Vic sold his H2 two years ago and is no longer active on the board, but here is what he did in his garage with turbos on his H2. I'm not sure if he actually ever hooked up the nitrous.

There are a handfull of turbo kits for the LS engines which should work just fine but as mentioned above its really not worth it. I thought about it at one point also but the issues down the road just aren't worth it.

STS Turbo makes one for the H2. They are actually right down the road maybe 10 minutes from me, located in Orem, UT. Their kit is a complete kit that includes everything, however it is a little $$$.
Woudl be a sweet setup though, I have only ever seen 1 other H2 that was turbo'd and it had some sweet power when you got on it. The other guys are right though, that thing will torque on everything under your ride unless you have it turned down. Adds about 100HP+, enough to break some stuff.
