Lynch Hummer has some Manik Stainless Steel Rocker Bars on their Adventure Accessories page.

They look like a single bar to me, vs the double bars offered on the GM product. Will the single bar be comparably effective?

My thought process id this: if I am going to use my chrome side steps for daily use then the single rocker bars might be easier for me to take on and off?

doesn't look much of a protection, but i don't know really...

I had the Manik rock rails on order and the sales guy at Lynch said they were good for looks and ON ROAD use only, no rock protection...I went for the GM rails and can't be happier. (I figured for $300 more than the Maniks, the cost is a small price to pay compared to rocker damage. It's only money, you can always make more http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

You are so right.....I think I will have the custom shop guys make mine in stainless. Even though the powder coated black is fine, I'd rather have something I can touch up, or wear as badges http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
