currently my plate is mounted on the spare in the rear. I dont like it there and i am trying to find a different spot for it, i need to run the tag light obviously so if anyone has any ideas or setups let me know it looks like i may be able to rig it somehow to the rear bumper or perhaps the corner of the hitch gate

If you are keeping your tire where it is, you can always do what I did.

Buy a frame and bolt it through the rear bumper, go to AutoZone and buy a license plate light and mount it too the underside of your tire carrier. you will have to cut down the hub inside the tire to put a center cover over it. You can use the existing wire for the light too.
This took about 30 minutes.

was it a bitch to wire the light or did u not have to? remember iam a retard with tools and this stuff!! what about using that space on the tire swing just below the spare? i dont sit as high as you i think wonder if i couls squeeze it in next to the spare?

Adter many different locations and brackets, this is what I ended up with. The lighting is only two wires and you just have to cut some off and heat shrink the splice into your new license plate light. VERY EASY TO DO! The light was $6.00 and the plastic fram around the plate was around there too. After two trips to MOAB the plate stayed intact and untouched. You don't want to mount the plaste to the swing gate because part of the plate will be ubstructed and you ahve no way to mount the light than.

Good luck,
Tim.

Also, are those the new BFGoodrich Mud Terrain you have on your SUT in the pic and are they loud on the street?

Tim, Keep off the Grass! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

That looks like the easiest and cheapest way to do the light.

For a customer, I've installed it on the left side of the tail gate, up of the H2 logo, very nice and clean solution, easy for the wiring inside the tailgate.
Note that Italian license plate are grater that yours, so RW solution is not good for our market.
