There are plenty of threads on this sight regarding running wires through the A (front windshield support)-Pillar. They are all good and address important issues including water leakage/sealing.

However, they mostly require removing the sun visor. This is all well and good, but I needed to get my CB wired, and was unable to get the visor removed. Additionally, I was leaving for Moab the next day.

After making several unsuccessful attempts with an electrician’s fish tape running through the marker light opening (which holds the grommet), I finally (unintentionally) forced the tape through a sort of spongy impasse around the level of the dash. I then hooked the center of 20’ length of solid 4-conductor telephone cord through the end of the tape and pulled a “double length” through. I cut it from the fish tape leaving 2 lengths inside the entire run. I used one length as a draw cord to pull the CB antenna through the entire length of the channel. I left the second one in place (knotted and tucked under the running light grommet hole) for a later installation of wiring for roof lights.

While the existing A pillar wiring harness runs outside of the A-Pillar, under the garnish on the windshield side, this method runs through the A- Pillar and exits near the vehicle floor through a roughly 3” square hole under the kick plate trim. There is other wiring coming through this opening. I’m hoping this may help others trying to run wiring.

Good innovation Tower & sounds like MOAB was a blast. On the visor they are VERY difficult to remove even when you know how (not one of GM's better inventions). I avoid it by working from the front of the headliner at the windshield. Just pull down slightly & start the wire and it will pull back behind the headliner with no problem. This is if your fishing wire from the overhead console to the Apillar.

The sun visor removal is ridiculous. I am installing factory brush guard lights and the instructions simply say "remove sun visor as shown" and it shows a ribbon type action. Amazing. I spent an hour and still didn?t get it removed. I will try the above methods tomorrow!

Hey Tower!!!!!!!

How are You Bud. Both of us have not been around much. I have been back for a few months but not consistantly. Depends on how sick i feel each day.

Did you by chance take pic of the extra wiring runner route? I have read Your discription and I'm not well the end of this week and I cannot make it register in my head as i normally do. I have had all that stuff off so much I should be able to visualize it but, drawing a blank.

No pics no biggie thought i would ask as You are usually good about pics with detail stuff.
