Cleveland Hummer was not budging off the sticker price. Thank God I stumbled across these forums and saw people talking about the GMID certificate. I got one and placed my order 3 weeks ago. It saved me over $3000. I wouldn't have purchased one if it weren't for the GMID. Now I'm patiently waiting (yeah right) for mine to arrive. I'm hoping it comes in by Oct 8 as I have a craft show up at Lake Erie and I would love to drive that puppyup there! Good luck on purchasing an H3!!!!

This is one hot vehicle that the dealers can make a full profit on, and that is unique in this day, so most probably won't deal. However, if your find an area where the market is slow for H3s, then I would expect that dealer would deal.
Good luck...

I'm a musician, so I'm not loaded...
OK, I work for attorneys during the day, so I'm not broke, but GMID saved me $3k and I had them swap the chrome rails for the black, chrome wheels for the regular ones, and even had them put the 33" tires on... You can negotiate things to make your ride fit your budget. I also was not picky about the leather, so I got the ebony cloth (I'm in Texas - leather in Texas is not always the best)... I got my GMID on Sunday and got my H3 on Wednesday... Now that's efficient!!!

Yeah I'm pretty sure I can get the GMID.. I got it on my Navigator which I'd be selling.. I live in Chicago but my family has a second home in Michigan, so maybe we can do the same with getting the GMID there, pay Michigan taxes (lots cheaper) and have a fun 300 mile drive back... That is if the suv can get up to 80 mph on the highway, http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

There is no GMID discount for a Ford (Lincoln) vehicle. Are you talking employee pricing maybe? If so, that is different.

Your dealer doesn't know what he is talking about. The GMID discount is available on the H3, the current employee pricing program that is going on is not available on the H3. It is only available on '05s.

The discount should be available whether you ordered or took one off the lot as far as I know. Dealers don't have to accept the GMID discount if they don't want to but more and more are starting to on the H3. The receptionist at my dealership told me they were not accepting them but a week later when I went in to get my deposit back to go else where, all of the sudden they do accept them. Did you have a GMID Cert. #? You have to get this from a GM employee, it is not a current promotion that is going on through the dealers.

That means his dealership isn't honoring them, probably due to low inventory. We've got over 80 trucks so its not a big deal to give you the discount if you qualify. (Sewell Dallas)

Make that 79... he he he
Just kidding... I bought my H3 yesterday from Sewell Dallas and am extremely satisfied with all the help I received and how well everything went! I am loving the green machine (now if I could just find the fake machine gun package to match)...

Hehehehe Hummer Newbie, I think you are right. I guess thats why I wanted to drive it up there figuring nobody else would have one.
Steve, hope you're enjoying your new toy. Darn, I was hoping I could pick up one of those hood ornaments at the local Walmart. Lol. Nice web site by the way. The best of luck with your band! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well the closest one to me is about 20 mins away which is where I went.. The salesman seemed like a nice low pressure guy which would make me interested in giving him business... The second closest one is 40 mins away... Both are in the suburbs of Chicago.. I'll tell ya the Slate Blue is sharp looking!! Is the Adventure package better in the snow?? j/c??

Believe me, it will do 80 mph in the flat state of MI, provided you don't blow a tire in one of our infamous pot holes. I was doing 85 in the hills of TN last week. http://hometown.aol.com/f5fstop01/images/leaving.gif
However, you won't save on sales tax if you purchase in MI and license it in IL. The dealership won't charge you for tax, and you will have to pay IL tax when you get it plated (I purchased three of my last four cars out of state.) Unless you first license it in MI, but you need a MI driver's license and residency to do that.
If you are considering this, the dealer in Clinton Twp, MI where I purchased mine at, accepts GMID, GMS; hell, the accept anything that says GM on it.http://hometown.aol.com/f5fstop01/images/banghead.gif
