Gang,

I am about to finally get my feet wet off-roading! My local dealership is having their first "Happening."

I have a feeling I am going to enjoy this and may even start my road trips out to CO and CA to join in on your fun!

Anyway, it appears as if a marketing company has set up the event for my dealer and they are going to build an off-road track for us out of nothing. Have any of you been to such an event? I expect that it will be a blast, but wonder how much of a track they can build for us?

Will hopefully have some EXTREME PHOTOS on Monday http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif, but wanted to know what to expect.

Regards,
Jason

Jason,

I have been to several and set them up as well... They will come in with a small dozer and make a couple small hills, mogules, off-camber stuff, etc...

You will either drive your H2 or a GM owned vehicle provided for the event.

If done well, it will really show off the capabilities of the H2 without going too far from home. I'll try to dig up some photos...

Seth,

The steps are already off - think I am excited?

****

Trav,

So I will not be off-roading for more than a couple of minutes, huh? Hopefully they will let me run thru the course multiple times.

Jason, here is a picture and a short artcle regarding the "happening" for San Diego. The photographer and writer rode with me so I got alot of mention and even quoted http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif(Im the Kevin in the article)

The track was pretty cool but nothing to extreme (alot of first timers). It was definatly a first rate show, the food and fun were great. Its just enough to make you want more http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hey Jason,

I've done "Hummer Happening" once already and the trails are ideal for people with either families attending or newbies........As for the trails themselves, they basically take a bulldozer to make the trails.......not the biggest challenge, but lots of fun!

2003 White Lux, Alpine Nav, DVD/Tuner, 3 Screens, Cold Air with Vented Snorkels, Metal Dash & Mats, SMA Chrome Accessories, Corsa Exhaust, Headers, Nology Plugs & Wires.

I wonder if they will open it up for me tonight?

You guys got me all jacked up for the event. Also, I appreciate the invites - but careful may be showing up one day sooner than expected.

Jason,

First outdoor event coming on the 27th. They hired a company that has set em up all over TX, and got a little track for RC Hummers.

They also got the winner of chuckwagon cooks to serve up some BBQ! Now if I could only get my goodies installed before the event, I should be set. Was supposed to happen in July, but delays from GM on approval (GM guy was on vacation) so they may do another in November.

Next Spring is when they break ground on their new dealership and Hummer track right out front!

Check out the OkC Chapter Page!

Focus on the free food Jason...visualize, contemplate...become "one" with the buffet table. Discipline, concentrate...BE THE BOTTOMLESS STOMACH.....

Then, and only then....can you truly indulge yourself in the moment...

And when the time is just right...blow chunks out the window while going through the obstacle course. Make it a Kodak moment! Then repeat steps 1 & 2.

Bumps, lumps, logs and slopes come and go....it's about the food man...its about the food!!!!! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I got a set of mud tires and the 16.5 rims hit the brake calipers SO I have to go to the tire shop tonight and see what I can find that will fit.
May have to borrow the 36" TSL that I tried on before.
I love those 'see food' diets.
