The OEM hitch requires the bumper with the cutout since it sits up higher. Aftermarket hitches should sit below the bumper. No cutout needed, but it will affect the departure angle.

Depends on if you plan on wheeling it or not. I did see an H3 bumper with hitch on ebay the other day for $400. A decent hitch is going to cost minimum of $200 isn't it?

Interesting email I got from GM the other day http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif: "After checking into this a little further part number 15850415, has been discontinued, and is no longer available from GM".
Poor me because part "15850415" was H3 rear bumper without hitch! WTF. I am hoping that what f5fstop wrote on another thread about GM changing part number is true in this case. I mean they can't just stop making rear bumpers, right? Help. S.O.S. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

I ordered mine with the hitch, so no. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

If you don't wheel, and you don't mind the way it looks, then go for it.

Klint - check out this thread.

I did a quick check and found the Hidden Hitch on another site for $135. Don't know how it compares, but if you to do a little more research you can probably save some $$$.

Klint- I have that exact Receiver your looking at. No you dont need the bumper with the cut out. The Receiver fits perfect under the bumper. I too tow a boat. I have a 4" drop hitch and the trailer sits level and that's with 315's.
As far as the install, I had a local Trailer shop do the install. Took them 30 min including the wiring. Hop this helps.

Parts guy might be able to answer this better, my access does not give me updated or revised part numbers.
They could have changed part numbers, or they could have deleted that bumper, only offereing the bumper with the cutout, that MIGHT have a plate installed that can be removed for a hitch addition at the dealers.
Best suggestion is call the dealer and have them check.
