I'll have to see it from a few other angles to decide on aesthetics but the price is right. The other stealth winch systems have been way too high.
Whatever happened to the DRTY Design? Did SMA/GM ever pull the trigger?

Is there another picture of it from the side. I wonder how much it is cutting off the approach angle.

Ok, so about a "month?" How many want one? let's try to work out a group buy. I'll take one with the winch. Maybe Jason can work something out for us all. Maybe a limited time deal. It would really kick off the sales of this new product for Warn. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I checked with TrailDuty and they are checking into availability. They might be another option for a group buy. http://www.trailduty.com
I think I really like it after seeing the install instruction and pics.

I also checked with another company (http://www.easttexastruckequipment.com/) and they said they can pre-order the bumper + winch for $1150 plus shipping. It would have to be a group buy and we need a total of at least 5 to get that price.
They would get the commitments and information from each of us and place the order and when they come available put it on our credit cards and ship it to you. They were not sure exactly when they would be released either.
If you are interested in one of these, PM me and we'll get the order in. BTW, I am in no way affiliated with any of the businesses and am not making money on the deal, BUT I do want to buy one of these and it sounds like the price is right.

Dear Valued Customer –
When I last communicated with you on the topic of price increases, it was my hope that the supplier price increases Warn Industries had been subjected to were going to be temporary and discontinued by the middle of the summer. Unfortunately, the situation that we now find ourselves in is one of continuing rounds of price increases that our suppliers have indicated will be permanent for the foreseeable future.
As a result, Warn Industries is requesting your assistance in managing this extremely challenging combination of continuing raw material, component and transportation price increases that have dramatically impacted the business by supporting a price increase on the WARN line of products.
Based on the current situation, Warn Industries has no other choice than to increase our prices based on the following general guidelines for all orders accepted on or after November 1, 2004:
All WARN Products (except Steel Intensive Products) 5%
Steel Intensive Products 8%
Please find attached a copy of our revised price sheet for the actual increases at the part number level. Note: Warn Industries may, at its option, refuse to accept any large orders received in the weeks leading up to the price increase that appear to be well beyond ordinary fill orders.
If you have any questions or concerns with respect to this price increase, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service group at 1-800-543-9276. Thank you again for your continued support of Warn Industries as we truly appreciate your business.
Best regards,
Thomas Giacomini

As someone who has used my winch a few times, http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I'm curious about using this type of winch.
It doesn't seem possible to access the spool very easily in this type of housing. When using a steel winch cable especially it is often neccessary to access the spool to properley realign the cable it is pulling in. How is this done when the spool is concealed?
Fever

according to the pics I've seen the spool is accesable from the top of the bumper

yes, the top is open.
sorry about the pic, it is a little grainy.

Well, apparently I am getting my bumper tomorrow and the winch on Friday, so I should have a busy weekend. I also am supposed to get my wheels back from the powdercoater tomorrow and 5 Goodyear 37x12.5x17 MT/Rs showed up on my doorstep yesterday. Today my custom, black zinc-plated, spline drive lug nuts are supposed to show up also. So, if I can scrounge up some help, I should have different truck come Monday.
