The Power Flash is a powerful tuning tool that allows you to set the level of tuning that you want. This is done using separate engine and transmission files for your car or truck, allowing you to change to the mode that you want to run. The octane level and ping control can adjust for fuel quality in different areas of the country and different altitudes. The PowerFlash can also correct for altered tire size and for ring and pinion changes. The speed limiter can be set to stock, 130 MPH, and unlimited (this should match the tires that you are running).
Here is an example of what the PowerFlash can do for you: Let's say you are going to see a friend of yours that lives 300 miles away, so you change your truck to economy mode while you are getting gas and drive there. When you get there you find out that your buddy wants to trailer his car to the local drag-strip and make a few runs, but his wife has his truck for the day. So you hook the trailer up to your truck and while you are loading up the tools and ice chests your Power Flash is programming your truck to Tow/RV mode. Ok, now you are at the track and find out that they are having a street night there, and you decide to run your truck. While you are filling out your driver registration card, your PowerFlash is now programming your truck for performance mode. You make a few runs and have a good time. When you are ready to leave you use the Power Flash to program the truck back to Tow/RV mode to get the race car to your friends house and the next day you go to economy mode for your drive home. You can also program the truck back to stock if you ever take it in to the dealer for service work.
The Power Flash will adjust the following items on your vehicle:
Speed limiter
Octane level (87, 89, 92)
Uses stock thermostat
Engine tuning (economy, towing, performance)
Shift points (economy, towing, performance)
Shift Firmness (economy, towing, performance)
Tire Height
ping control (Sets timing +/- 5%)
correct speedometer for changes in tire height and rear axle ratio
reduces or removes torque management on some vehicles (4.8, 5.3, 6.0 and LS1/LS6
