View Full Version : How about this load of B.S......
Just sat through a lecture from a friend of mine who advised me that the H2 was an irresponsible purchase. His reasoning? How about this.
1. I would look like an ******* driving around in one. That I was trying to compensate for something.
2. Too much gas.
3. Not worth the money.
4. They are not built well.
5. Too big.
The great thing about this lecture was that it came from a staunchly liberal democrat(not suprising) who drives a Tahoe Z71(just perfect).
How about that load of crap?

I'm pretty liberal but I have no sympathy for terrorists. Being liberal does not mean that I am a tree hugging hippie... Then again I am fiscally conservative, just socially liberal.
As for that douchebag in the Z71, just run circles around him offroad and laugh at all the looks you get when driving around. Oh wait, I bet he doesn't go offroad even though he has the offroad edition. What a poser... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I hate taxes, and hate huge government (funny thing that it keeps getting bigger with Bush... Hmm). For most social issues I tgend to be liberal, but when my pocketbook is concerned I get greedy and conservative. Interesting to see the political views of HUMMER owners.
Me, I'm all for FREEDOM -- Civil Rights, Equal Rights, Civil Liberties, Free Speech, Free Association, Pro-Choice, Pro-Gun Rights, Pro-Privacy, Freedom of (or in my case /from/) Religion, Separation of Church & State, Equal (and minimal!) Taxation in exchange for Representation and a Strong Military.
Live Free or Die!
Unfortanately, I don't find many others who share my views. Every politician I see wants to take away my freedoms and rights. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
Since we're on the topics:
1. Right to Bear Arms - like the forefathers intended.
2. Pro-Life/Anti-Baby Killing
3. Pro Traditional Family as the Judeo-Christian founders Intended; Gay Marriage is one more step in the wrong direction for our nation. Don't push your Sodomizing agenda into the mainstream/majority. You call it diveristy/equality and tolerance; I call these convenient labels for a license to perversion and the debasement of our nation.
4. Free-Market Economy with an American buying bias!
5. 100% Support for Coalition Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
6. Pro-environment, but not to the extreme of bankrupting ranchers, farmers, and loggers with absurd regulations that protect striped toads and nutes from the path of a plow.

Dennis:
I heard the same report on the Savage Nation [Michael Savage Radio Show] yesterday. It seems the Liberals have taken a strangle-hold in the Great White North and they've passed a law that makes it illegal for religious leaders to criticize the homosexual "lifestyle."
It's the same as in the USA; we live in a free-speech society, but if you hold steadfast to "traditional" values, then you're labeled a bigot, intolerant, or phobic.
My relatives in Europe laugh, because they struggled to have freedom in their culture and now those very freedoms are being abused in the nations they've modeled themselves after - to punish the Catholics, Jews, and the traditional family that is fighting to retain the culture and "sense of morality."
We have to recognize that with each law that steps further from God's word; we debase our society gradually. Even a person of atheist or agnostic stature can appreciate this. I'm not into preaching to folks, but some of our legislators, judges, and lawyers, have certainly lost sight of right and wrong on issues that really don't have a gray area.

Actually Ticket2ride, I feel pretty similar to you. Freedom is key. Everybody that is a citizen should have the right to choose what they want as long as it doesn't interfere with another person's rights. But what makes America so great is that we can have discussions like this and voice our opinions on how we feel and not be persecuted for them. Yeah we will have jabbing and arguments, but it is because we can do these things that our country is so great.

It seems all is not lost in America, and Im not the only one listening to the Savage Nation. Oh if only people knew of what they spoke! Alot of eye's would be opened in this country regarding where our laws came from if only people would READ THE BIBLE. I get so anoyed with the people who say this country WAS not founded by Christians and set up God's laws old and new testament.
Say what you want and believe what you want but don't argue facts. And for those of you who think im wrong please do some reading in the book of Leviticus. Someone understood sickness and disease and how to avoid it long ago. Courts and wittnesses were established, Governing bodies, Laws of morality and so much more. Do you know why it is illegal to kill birds of prey? That's in there too.

That's right- interpret it the way that suits your needs best. Looking for answers from a book of fables that's centuries old that's been reinterpreted over & over & over & over isn't the way I choose to go through life. Sorry, but imo organized religion is the manipulation of humanity's inherent nature to be superstitious and fearful of the unknown. It's basically just a way to control the masses.

Written word that's been retold over and over again? What do you think about Scientology? It was recently written and the author is known. He even said that he was going to make up a religion. Look at all of the people that have flocked to it. How do you know that your religion wasn't made up in a similiar fashion? Oh yeah, because it's the bible. I forgot, the bible is different. When you see a representation of jesus he's usually looking like a blue-eyed surfer. But in reality the people in that region at that time had broad flat noses, brown skin & dark curly afro type hair. That's a documented fact. But that doesn't go with what your religion has brainwashed you with, does it? The churches were clever enough to know that they needed to make their icon something palatable to the masses.
If your religion has changed the look of your savior to make him more attractive to you what else do you think they've changed? Why do you think the church refers to all of you as sheep or his flock? Because that's what you are- empty-headed sheep that follow blindly without thinking.

If I was given free will to make my choice and I didn't make the right one, then if god is all forgiving why wouldn't he forgive me? He made me, so why wouldn't he make me so I'd make the right choice? Is he making me so that I'm doomed from the start? He is all-seeing & all-knowing, so he should have known what I was going to do before he allowed me to be created. So won't he know from inception that I was flawed? Shouldn't I be forgiven for his doings since I was destined to fail, or is he just playing sadistic games with us? I would think that he be proud of me for thinking on my own and questioning everything.

DRTY,
I was raised in public schools so I am not warped by Christian or Catholic teachings. I researched many religions before concluding that Christianity was the only way. Heck, if I was to choose what religion was the truth, I would be Mormon. There is a ton of sex in their heaven!
As to God knowing someone was doomed before that someone was even created, I could spend pages debating this but it all boils down to the definition of "Free Will". It wouldn't be "Free Will" if God didn't create everyone with equal oportunities. It is not God's fault that someone is going to spend their entire life rejecting Him. He would not be a just and fair God if He did it any other way. God can't force people to love Him. That is why He allows people to be born even though He knows they will never love Him back. He gets no enjoyment out of seeing someone reject Him.
DRTY since some people don't care to read about this "Off-topic" stuff you can send me a private topic. Otherwise, I got to get back to work! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Jealous god? Just great. Ever have a jealous girlfriend? It sucks and it's not healthy. If god wanted unconditional love he should have created a planet full of dogs. But he gave us free will, so he must have done it for a reason.
Do you have children? Do you want them to grow and flourish, expanding their minds and horizons, helping them up when they have fallen and sraped a knee, sending back out to play. Or do you want them to go through life constantly thinking of how to please you, fearing your wraith if you become displeased?

The first four books are about a God who loved you, yes you DRTYFN, so much so that He was willing to be born into this earth, go through toddler years (which means that He loved you so much that he became a helpless baby and even had messy diapers for you DRTYFN http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif, He also probably had acne and was teased by school bullies such as yourself http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif), then He was persecuted and crucified by the very same religious leaders that you despise! He walked this earth preaching what you are preaching on this forum (Well, not everything http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif) Then, three days later He rose from the dead to prove He was God and was ruler over death. He went through all that thinking of you, DRTYFN. But you continue to mock Him.
Now who is the cruel one DRTYFN?
God allowed you to be born even though He knew you would reject Him and mock his followers. You should at least thank Him for that. Where you spend eternity after life is 100% in your hands. I would book that room in Hell fast because the good ones are going fast http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.
You continue to focus on "religious" rules, when Jesus came, He said there are more important things then "rules". He knew the religious leaders carried things too far.
Your analogy is right. God is our Father. No good father would want harm to come to his children. You are like the child who thinks they know more then the parents and goes ahead and plays in the street. Eventually you are going to get run over. Your Father in Heaven loves you very much DRTYFN.
I already know what your response to this will be. You keep focusing on the same twisted issues. I just wish you the best my friend.

DRTY,
To answer your question re: predestination go to the Bible(I know you have one). Read Romans Chapter 9 with a particular emphasis on vrs 11&12. This cleared that up for me.
SVTJim,
Sow a seed but don't cast a pearl before swine(and I don't mean DRTY) He's fun to play with and no doubt raised in a family where he was given many opportunities to respondhttp://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. As a matter of fact he reminds me of myself about 13 years ago

Have you ever gone to Torrey Pines in San Diego? I fly paragliders at the glider port at the cliffs almost every other weekend. Orange Wing, look for me.

Jim,
I have my SEL license(single engine land) so when I fly up the coast I am usually UNDER you guys. I love to fly about 50 feet above the water(it feel like your gear is going to touch) and climb out around Del Mar.
I have flown full scale gliders and R/C gas and gliders and even jumped from 16,000 ft but paragliders is one thing I have never tried. Got a 2 place??http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif And hey what the heck, If it fails it sounds like we have reservations at the same mansionhttp://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
BTW Romans 10:9-11 rocks for me!!!

N2ITNSD,
I used to fly engine but now just paragliders. You can take a tandem ride for $150 maybe less if they know your with me. You can fly RC gliders there too if you have one.
If your flying by and see my orange wing, rock your wing to say Hi.
Hey, I just realized, below Torrey Pines is Blacks Beach. Now I know why you fly so low http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

DRTYFN,
I agree that this religion **** is going too far. That's how WARS are started. I REFUSE to preach so I just joke about it.
Hey there are guys in prison for RAPE, MURDER,
THEFT, who are "BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS" But I'm sure Jim will not be opening his doors to invite them for dinner.
Usually the ONES(not all) that preach to the top of their lungs about God and the Word are the ones stuggling with thier own devils of temptation and deviate fantasies.
I don't belittle or preach to others who don't share my beliefs. Friends are friends. If they don't like me for my religion, color, class,

You Guys crack me up http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. This is just like Thankgiving or CHRISTmas around the table with my father in law. No hard feelings, but my feeling's run deep too.
Nothing like a good discussion with open minded people http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
I would rather live it and it not be true than not live it and it be true.
You guy's keep talking about religion, it is not about being religious it's about a personal relationship with Christ, what is in your heart not what religion you belong to.
I agree that a lot of churches have problems and act rather stupid but the bible tells us to work out our own salvation. No one is trying to force anything on you guy's but as christians we are supposed to tell people about Christ and you can feel the way you want to it is totally your choice.
I made the statement that Christians aren't perfect they are just forgiven, well forgiveness is for anyone that ask Christ in ther heart. My statement merely was saying that as Christians we make mistakes as well.
I'm am not the type of person that is going to hound anyone about my beliefs, I just wanted to respond to a few things in some previous threads.
As far as I'm concerned I'm through talking about it unless someone has a question for me.
I'm all about having fun and joking I'm glad everyone can cut up and not get mad.

But according to the bible all of creation is only several millennia old. So how could those formations have been formed 1.2 million years ago? Like I said, the religious logic(oxymoron) is severely flawed. If you're gonna talk the talk, walk the walk.

SUT, you're one pathetic brainwashed wackjob. What an disheveled, rambling mess.
