I was just curious about who is buying the H3 and why.
Myself
Sex: Male
Age: 36
Marital Status: Pretty much married
Occupation: GM for a small computer board manufacturer
Reason for getting H3: Fell in love with the H2 but it is out of my budget right now. The H3 is the closest thing I could get. Wanted something different than everything else on the road. Also would like to start wheeling with it.

Reason for getting H3: I want a 4 door SUV that can really go off road from the factory. I hope to keep my Jeep Rubicon but need more space for longer expedition type trips, dogs and passengers and gear. If not for the Adventure Package with low gears, rear locker, 33" tires and largish gas tank and good price I would probably not consider the H3.
And it is nice to Buy American Iron!!

Reason for getting H3: Fell in love with the HUMMER Brand since I got my first HUMMER toy car, I wanted to get an H2 but couldn't afford it last year, then the H3 came out and I liked it a lot, even though I could afford a used H2 I think the H3 is more convenient for city driving and the fuel economy is better than the H2... maybe when the H2 SUT ALpha comes out I will upgrade, for the moment I am more than happy with my H3 http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Reason for Wanting the H3: Love the Hummer brand and much like most of the H3 buyers, the H2 is out of my price range. I first heard of the H3 about 4 years ago when I met a girl who was an engineer helping to design the door of the H3. I knew right then and there this was the ride for me. Reasonably priced Hummer. All over it! Can't wait to get mine. Still a couple months out.

Reason for getting H3: On Jun 18, 2005, 10:48am, my son and I were rear ended @ a stop light by a drunk driver. He was going 65mph, never hit the brakes, and crushed my company F150. My son and I walked away.
Monday I went shopping. I was sold on a Siverado Crew Cab /Duramax/4x4 because of the great price and good ride. I saw my first H3 on the way home and thought "why do I need a truck?" After 4 days of back and forth in my head and on paper, the H3 kept winning. My main concerns were being too showy to my customers and my employees...But the H3 was still $4,000 less than the truck. I can justify it! I ordered the H3 on 6/25/05. My wife drives a Steel Blue BMW 330Ci and I ordered the Slate Blue H3. I am anxious to see how close they match.
My lifted and built Jeep Cherokee is going to be SO mad when I bring it home http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Reason for getting an H3: Wanted an H2 real bad because of the unique boxy, but elegant looks, but was turned off by the width and height of it. The H3 is a little more sub-urban friendly and it is a HUMMER, so I got it instead.

Reason for getting H3: I have been a Jeep person all my adult life. Fell in love with Hummer when they first came out with a civilian model, but couldn't justify the size and MPG. Waited for Hummer to come out with a model comparable to my Grand Cherokee, and the H3 fits the bill. I also wanted to be the first kid on the block to have a new style vehicle.

Reason for getting H3: Loved H2 but not the price. Also wasn't crazy about getting that thing around in town, or filling it up. Heard the H3 was as good off road or at least very close..(found out it is true on the Detroit Hummer Happening). Plus I love the styling! Also, in my opinion, the H3 interior is MUCH nicer then the H2...the thick steering wheel just makes you feel like you driving a tank.

Reason: I always liked the H2 but not the size or MPG. I had a Tundra 4 Door but it was like driving a boat. Parking was hell. I sold it and bought a Nissan Pathfinder which was a very nice SUV but it had no style or flair. The H3 has a unique tough and rough appearance and feel. Its just the coolest SUV on the road.

I actually fit one of the demographics that Hummer has made. I do not think I match any of the H2 or H1.

Reason For Getting H3: The H2 is a little bulky and too hard on fuel. I fell in love with the H3 when I first saw one in May. I was driving mine on June 11th and think its one of the nicest vechicals I have ever owned.

Reason for getting my H3: My Vehicross was
getting old, and I wanted more room, and
something that would carry more inside, and
would get me up the trail to my house in the
Ozarks in all kinds of weather and still be
comfortable on the highway and not look like
every other SUV you see. The H2 would never
squeeze through some of the places I go, but
I considered it briefly and liked the mileage
of the H3 and creature comforts. I appreciate
the engineering of the H3 and love machinery.

Reason: tired of driving a truck, wife drives a BMW Z4 so we needed something the family and/or dogs and gear could get in (kayaking, fishing etc)Love the square styling and capabilities of all the Hummers, drove the H2, was impressed, but can't justify the $$ or the mileage. Reason for getting H3: We were looking for a mid-sized SUV (4 doors) to replace our Chevy Silverado Ext. Cab. We had decided on the Nissan Murano until we saw the H3. The wife fell in love with it and for just about the same price as a loaded Murano we are the proud owners of a Black H3. Plus, it is offroad capable and I'll be testing that out soon.

Reason for getting H3: Been driving my wonderful M3 going on eight years, but I need something to pull a trailer with a Harley on it plus carry an occasional surfboard or a kayak and go exploring off-road from time to time. Got tired of borrowing other people's trucks. Been looking for a year, but wife won't drive a pick-up truck, and I hate all of the boring car SUV's. H2 was too big and over-the-top for me - never considered it. Discovered the H3 - finally a real mid-sized off-road truck-based SUV with a manual trans (like the others started out as) and decent styling. Hope my friends don't think that I am trying to be trendy - I want to go off-road, and get there in comfort!

Reason for getting H3: Want something to replace my Jeep since my Butt can't take anymore cross-country trips, and my forearms have not recovered from the cross-winds on I-70 through Kansas earlier this month, so the Jeep has to go. Also, just moved to MI and the roads here are terrible (that is a mild under-statement), and my Jeep bounces all over the place, and my Corvette is being slowly torn apart; bushing and tire, by bushing and tire. Therefore, the answer is to sell both and purchase a Luxury H3 with off-road suspension. This will not happen until a final Corvette road trip back to TN, over labor day
Thought about an H2, but it won't go places that I normally go (see photo), but the H3 will just fit.http://publish.hometown.aol.com/dldever01/images/jeep_small_corvette-jeep%20forum.jpg Horse Canyon Trail, Canyonlands (Needles Area) National Park

Reason for getting H3: I go hunting and go to various ranches all the time and needed a vehicle that could perform well off-road, and still was small enough for me to use in the city. I have owned a lifted chevy z-71 p/u and my last car was a highly modified 2002 audi a4. Amazingly I don't miss the audi at all, and hope my new project car can turn out as well as my last one...

Reason for getting H3: i dislike the H2 for some reason. i love sports cars. i live in new england. the BMW M3 i owned was so not practical for a daily driver in new england. i decided to be a little more practical but due to my aquarian traits and love of cars i could not bring myself to get a "boring" SUV. i needed a 4 season vehicle with lots of cargo space and looked badass. hence, the hummer H3!!! i like vehicles with a "cult-like" following (i.e. jeep, BMW, and now hummer). its also nice to not have to pay for fine german car labor rates and parts.

Reason for getting H3: I drove real HUMMVE's back in the day when I was active duty USMC and I love the offroading capabilities. This H3 platform makes its possible for a guy like me to own without being in debt to a guy name Guido. Also It gives me bragging rights and Chicks dig it! Also, I was at Airveture in Oshkosh (Air Show) which I drove my H3 on the actual grounds that are restricted to all vehicles except the V.I.P. or official vehicles that are required for crew support. Normally we would of drove the Govt van. But I talked my 2ndLt in taking my H3 to the venue and he agreed. We put the pass in the left front window and off we went. Now Ford is the offical sponser of Oshkosh and our C-130 Aircraft was parked right next to their huge disply tent. So I was very proud to park my H3 near the Ford vehicle displays. Man, I loved the attention my H3 got!!! Just driving at 3 mph through the fair grounds slowly dodging large crouds and having people of all walks of life pointing and kids yelling "Look Mom and Dad an H3!" My friends, thats what its all about! Sorry Ford.

Reason for getting H3: I've always loved the Hummers. When the H2 came out, I really wanted it, but for some reason, it felt too "tall" and not the typical "wide" like the original Hummer. I still liked it and was ready to get one except it didn't fit in the garage and the gas mileage wasn't great. Very familiar with the area, grew up in PV and OP. I used to work in Lenexa and my mom recently moved her company there. I actually miss living up there and have seriously thought about moving back a number of times. Your offroad park sounds pretty cool. Where is it located? I will go check out the site for the park. I was about to pull my order from my local dealer and order from KC Hummer but things change.

Thanks. There are other factors like possibly buying a new house that helps me be patient with it. I want to go ahead and get the house before it comes in so if it takes a little longer, it is worth it to me. Then, watch out for all the pics http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Soon to order H3. Deciding on color and options. Age 45. Airline pilot. Bachelors Degree. Single never married. But I like girls http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Currently drive Ford explorer and 500 SL Mercedes and 03 Harley Road King Classic. Also have 40 ft Trawler and Ski Nautique. Like many others I fell in love with the h2 but seemed a little to big for everyday use. H3 should be a fun addition to the toybox.

Marital Status: Married to an Incredible Man with three Fabulous Teens
Occupation: National and International Corporate Relocation
Reason for Purchasing: I have always admired the HUMMER product. I just happened to be surfing the internet look for a replacement for my 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser, which I think is the best purchase I have ever made. Saw the H3 in an article and immediately knew it was the car for me.
Husband and kids were against it at first....now they love it just like me.
